I think it is more about the technique

I like the ezcloner better..

Lopez Stokes
L

I've used both and the ez cloner will make absolutely gigantic roots!!

Dave Engle
D

Ez cloner has a much higher success rate

Devyn Hagen
D

Ez-cloner is great when you have it dialed in...

Jason Mcelroy
J

Don't overthink it. I just pop them in a dixie cup of water on a sunny window ledge for about ten days, then whoomp, roots and into soil. If you are a small grower, no need for special equipment beyond cloning gel.

John Coon
J

You should definitely not be putting your seeds anywhere near sunlight until after the 1st codyledons pop up and they are planted in the ground… Not to be rude, but this is just bad advice.

Dave Engle 3 years

Dave Engle they're not talking about seeds, they're talking about clones

Nicola Miles 3 years

My mistake! In that case, that's not terrible advice... But I would still use an ez clone or dome!

Dave Engle 3 years

Yeah I use a dome myself for them, although I've even used a see through cup over the plantpot and it worked.

Nicola Miles 3 years

Dave Engle water cloning is fast and produces long roots faster. It's the best method for not stressing the clone

Aerocloners are incredible, just purchased the turbokloner t24, 100% success and roots in less than 10days.

Maine Canna Zach heck yea, I found as long as I kept the water temp down below 75 I got roots very fast. It kinda blew my mind the first time I used it .

Rick Posey 3 years

Ive never took a clone that didnt take in dome

Andrew Gleason

Peter Duvall

You can do this 20 different ways. The best way is the one that works for you. Trays domes heatmat constant care.

Peter Wood

100% every time in a homemade dome..

Mert Seymour

I cut, scrape the outer layer off near where I cut, make a split down the center of the stem, rooting powder, soil, red cup, and throw in the grow room. Humidity 50-60%. Never, ever, had one fail.

Do they wilt at all without a dome?

Tim Crosby 3 years

no really wilt but i was advised to spray in the dome to keep it humid and most of my clones grew mold so I tossed them

Hazey Crowley 3 years

No I mean on the ez cloner

Tim Crosby 3 years

Rick Posey 3 years

That's what I was talking about with you

Tim Crosby 3 years

How long dis it take to get roots

Tim Crosby 3 years

Its a good way to shorten a tall plant... Clone a branch

Humidity domes. Especially if you're doing a large volume of clones.

Here's a tip. 1" of wet perlite across the bottom of the tray to keep humidity up without standing water or constantly spraying.

LC Drezzman West
L

Propagation station with heating pad. Ez cloner is great, but I stay away from anything that says easy and has a motor

Landry Corley
L

Meh unless you are planning on cloning lots sure invest on all those fancy stuff. But if you're just cloning a few just get your cuttings and put them in soil with some root hormone and put a plastic bottle or cling wrap over it.

Maria Ross

Truth!

Jim Hatch 3 years

If you're trying to run clones in a hydro system this doesn't work though... An ez cloner is your best option!

Dave Engle 3 years

Dave Engle yeah, that or Dixie cup on a windowsill. I have a 4 x 4 and no need for specific cloning equipment when no expense gets me the same result. Aerating the water would speed things if you are in a hurry, but if you have more time than money, just DIY.

John Coon 3 years

Yeah, ez cloners are faster and get much quicker results in a hydroponic setup, which is what I use… I don't like wasting time because I try to pump out as many crops per year as I possibly can while still keeping the quality up there. Gotta love living in Colorado trying to keep up with the demand out here!!

Dave Engle 3 years

Dave Engle OK, so your constant pitch is aimed at commercial grows. Maybe “less is more” with the ad campaign?

How much $ and energy r u wanting to input. Domes are cheap and get great results. Clone machine more expensive get great results less time. So the question time or money

Mack Broussard
M

Dome and jiffy plugs, 7 days, clone machines are not faster, they may be a little less work, but not faster.
