My mom, shortness of breath, saw fluid on chest exray... Diagnosed mesothelioma off of fluid... Been fighting two years, on hospice now... All the best
This happened in nov im stage 3 a/b in right upper lobe with lymph node met had rad and chemo going to see thoracic surgeon tomorrow not sure if im a candidate they did bronchscope last week well see im doing ok just praying i can beat this
My hubby had horrific pain in neck, shoulder, & down arm! Went to many diff drs before he finally got so bad that had to be rushed to ER & finally & unfortunately CT scan was done that found a 5cm tumor in upper left lung that was putn pressure on all nerves in neck & shoulder! Other than weight loss, tiredness, occasional cough not really any alert of the usual expected symptoms of lung cancer! Lung cancer can be very manipulating in its symptoms!!
Alot!! By the time he got into treatment he went from 170lbs to 145lbs! I suspected he had cancer because this happened to both my parents during there journeys with cancer!
I really had none. I would have maybe 3 seconds of pressure when I stood up and sat. They didn't understand as these were two large tumours one bleeeding on the back of my cerbellum. They said I've had them 3-7 years maybe longer.
I had a cough for over 12 months. Heavy shoulders when walking strength drains from me feeling week. Had x Ray then ct scan showed Lesion in right lung middle lobe and nodes
I was very hoarse for 3 weeks or so. ENT looked down my nose and could see larynx not moving. CT scan showed tumor pressing on nerve that was pressing on larynx. CT scan showed lots of other nodules, etc.
My supraclavicular lymph nodes (under my collarbone, left side only) got swollen... I had blood tests, untrasound then Fine Needle Biopsy (FNB) told what type of cancer. MRI of the brain and Pet Scan confirmed how much and where.
Kanwal Lara nothing! I had my annual exam by my ob the month before. Full blood work. All clean. When I went to internist for stomach ache he did another round of blood tests. All normal. I was diagnosed 2 days later with stage 4 lung cancer
Kanwal Lara I did not have any swollen lymph nodes. I went to the doctor for stomach ache. He told me I had gallstones and sent me for sonogram. Well I didn’t have gallstones but there was something suspicious on my liver. They suggested MRI. I did MRI the next day and they found something malignant on the liver but it was not the primary source. I was scheduled for a full body pet scan the next day where they found I had primary lung cancer which spread to my liver and lymph-nodes. An MRI of the brain showed that I had lesions in the brain as well
The left side of my neck was completely swollen. Only other symptom that we didn't recognize before diagnosis was a pulled muscle feeling in my opposite shoulder a month prior. And a couple of times I had night sweats up to 6 months prior to diagnosis.
My PCP (Primary Care Physician) at Fort Worth VA found mine with x-ray last March and the roller/coaster of treatments test began. Dr Vo is great lady and cares about her patients, VA gets bad rap. I had great team in Radiation/Care and Hemo/Onco at Dallas VA. Spent 7 weeks before Christmas 2017.Still fighting to keep Stage llla under control. Diet, exercise and prayers help. Take meds.. Fight for your life.
I had a bad cough told for 2 months it was pneumonia then bronchitis then pneumonia finally an urgent care place did more xray told me to go to ER for ct found out that day cancer after testing it is stage 4 nsclc
Was exhausted the preceding summer. Had non stop could do went to ER for bronchitis. Dx bronchitis. They saw a spot in rml so sent to for Ct & the rest is history ... 9/2/17 dx - later confirmed NSCLC stage 3b. 1/18 dx NSCLC stage 4b with bone cancer mets to the spine.
No symptoms but 35 yrs smoker but had quit for 16 yrs. Doctor ordered a cat scan and had 2 spots in left upper lung, they watched for almost 2 year and one spot started to grow, it was cancer. They removered that lobe and no chemo or rad. It's been a year
No not diagnosed with anything. Just having symptoms... Have had a chronic cough for 5-6 months now... Hasn’t gotten worse but it’s always kinda there. Also chest pain front and back... Doc did X-ray and it came out clear and so he said to maybe see a pulmonologist...so that’s why was wondering what the usual symptoms are and what I should do next. When I called the pulmonologist he said if it was something serious something would have showed up on X-ray so Idk
Kanwal Lara I believe that also. My doc told me that this cancer has probably been present for 7 years before I was diagnosed. A chest X-ray would have seen something. But since I had no symptoms there was no need for chest X-ray. Even though it spread I am grateful that I didn’t have the lung problems that so many people have indicated such as chronic cough and coughing up blood etc...
My dad had a cough for a couple months, diagnosed with pneumonia from the xray. Went away for awhile then returned. Dr ordered a ct scan and saw a spot on the right lung. PET scan the next week; diagnosed with stage 4lc mets to the spine, lymphs, both lungs, and mediastinum. He also had lost weight
Hubby had none till night our lives changed forever!..... He complained of his very 1st migraine with black spots... Gave him an Excedrin.... He went to lay down a missed the bed... Got him in bed.... He had a seizure... 1st and only.... Took him to our bohunk of a hospital... Diagnoses... Stroke... He did hard physical labor daily.... He was 45... He was rushed to Nashville.. 120 miles away... Admitted to NeuroI. C.U.... Had a full bodym. R.I. Stage IV non small cell squamous carcinoma.. 5 small one very large brain cancer... The one large on the brain was so large it had his skull pushed out... Doc said untreated he had two weeks till it ruptured... A raindrop or shower spray hard enough would kill him... He would probably go in his sleep.... I can't begin to tell you what this news did to him... Us... He made it 15 months... He passed from sepsis and pneumonia...
Oh... The very first warning sign his oncologist said to look for was domed finger and toenails... One of the earliest signs he said.... And my hubby had both.
Uhmmm... No not clubbing... My hubby had domed finger and toenails... Finger and toes totally normal... Nails on other hand were domed... Arched... Urpraised.
Almost like his fingers were squished till nails raised and arched.. But his fingers stayed the same... He always had huge calloused fingers and hands..... He worked hard physical labor with them and loved it!
I had bronchitis twice in 3 months, Dr ordered Ct and saw a spot on lung, then had biopsy and was diagnosed with stage 2 nsclc. Had lobectomy of left lobe removed, cancer was gone but 3 months later came back. Did Chemo, it spread to my brain did Radiation and it shrunk the 3 brain tumors now it spread to my bones in 3 areas. Doing Chemo still, have Ct and MRI of brain in next 2 months. I feel pretty good, I have an awesome family that gives me lots of support and help. I just refuse to give up, I get wore out but I keep going. I'm 59 and at 57 they said 6 months left, well almost 3 years later I'm still going, god has this and I pray and believe he's in control. God bless you and be positive! Hugs
Shortly after i went into a sleeping mode for a couple weeks was just totally exhausted then i couldnt eat very much of anything my taste budz were so messed up mentally im just now accepting all this and starting to try to do things for myself again
My mom, shortness of breath, saw fluid on chest exray... Diagnosed mesothelioma off of fluid... Been fighting two years, on hospice now... All the best
Cough wouldnt go away. Had xray showed 8cm mass then had cat scan told it was cancer then
When did this diagnosis happen? What stage were you in? How are you doing now? If you don't mind sharing...
This happened in nov im stage 3 a/b in right upper lobe with lymph node met had rad and chemo going to see thoracic surgeon tomorrow not sure if im a candidate they did bronchscope last week well see im doing ok just praying i can beat this
Sending prayers your way. Hope it's a good. Outcome.

How much weight was he losing
Alot!! By the time he got into treatment he went from 170lbs to 145lbs! I suspected he had cancer because this happened to both my parents during there journeys with cancer!
verna oh wow hope he gets better. İs weight loss a common symptom of lung cancer?
I really had none. I would have maybe 3 seconds of pressure when I stood up and sat. They didn't understand as these were two large tumours one bleeeding on the back of my cerbellum. They said I've had them 3-7 years maybe longer.
I had what I thought was a pulled muscle.. They did cat scan and it showed shadowing on lung.. Next a mri and showed I had a5 cm. & 3.5 cm tumor
I had a cough for over 12 months. Heavy shoulders when walking strength drains from me feeling week. Had x Ray then ct scan showed Lesion in right lung middle lobe and nodes
Did the x Ray show the lesion?
I was very hoarse for 3 weeks or so. ENT looked down my nose and could see larynx not moving. CT scan showed tumor pressing on nerve that was pressing on larynx. CT scan showed lots of other nodules, etc.
My only symptom was shortness of breath which I thought was anxiety. Also I had a bone tumor.
I thought I had a hernia. They did xrays, CT and an ultrasound. I have SCLC with one spot on lung and mets to lymph nodes, liver, spine and rib.
Cough turned in to legioners. Xray ct scan. Showed mass on left lung
Did x Ray show mass?
Xray did show a mass then they did a ct
Pain in right chest area. I thought I pulled a muscle. They did X rays and then cat scan I believe.
Cough that wouldn’t go away and kept on getting worse. Treated for pneumonia, no progress, after 3 months finally got diagnosed with stage IV
How did they diagnose? X-ray?
Kanwal Lara I had 3 X-rays that showed a spot that primary thought was pneumonia. Finally got ct scan which is when things started happening g
My supraclavicular lymph nodes (under my collarbone, left side only) got swollen... I had blood tests, untrasound then Fine Needle Biopsy (FNB) told what type of cancer. MRI of the brain and Pet Scan confirmed how much and where.
What do blood tests show with lung cancer?
Kanwal Lara nothing! I had my annual exam by my ob the month before. Full blood work. All clean. When I went to internist for stomach ache he did another round of blood tests. All normal. I was diagnosed 2 days later with stage 4 lung cancer
Sharon Stroud so how did they end up diagnosing? How swollen were ur lymph nodes
Kanwal Lara I did not have any swollen lymph nodes. I went to the doctor for stomach ache. He told me I had gallstones and sent me for sonogram. Did the x Ray show anything?
They said they thought they did so they didn't want to take any chances and said get the ct

Kanwal Lara yes I do. Something to raise suspicion at the very least

Was weight loss a common symptom for everyone diagnosed?
Started losing weight once I started chemotherapy. Loss of appetite caused by a lot of pain
Yes I struggle every day to gain weight, just very little fills me up. Started off at 155 now I am 115.
Ive gone from 112/115 to 103/104 but not losing anymore holding steady forcing myself to eat is hard
Did u start losing that weight before u got diagnosed?
Shortly after i went into a sleeping mode for a couple weeks was just totally exhausted then i couldnt eat very much of anything my taste budz were so messed up mentally im just now accepting all this and starting to try to do things for myself again
I can relate to that, I eat a little at a time, like 5 times a day.
No symptoms 44 everyone in my office was sick thought I had bronchitis and drs thought pneumonia but chest X-ray showed a tumor.
Dr. Said it was most likely growing 4 years
My finger nails also changed in color and growth
