My question is simply, well, not that it's simple but... What is religion? Is there a definition out there for religion that suits all religions?
Yes, and that is the nature on which we are born is our religion.
Nobody is born with religion, we acquire it by virtue of the circumstance under which we are born, normally dictated by our parents... L
Then why are believers found in the families of non-believers!
Azad Waddell choices, people at some stage in their lives make their own choices, that's normal, some choose to believe and some don't. Their reasons are personal..
Can't you see that the nature on which they were born helped them to discover their true religion.
Azad Waddell there is religion, period, as for " true religion " that's debatable .... Truth has nothing to do with religion, it is not based on belief....
It's the belief in a God or Gods and it's worship. We are all born atheist, religion comes later from parents and geography.
Religion is the byproduct of an innate belief that the souli. E. mind, consciousness (whatever you want to call it) is separate from the body.
True. Since religion is corrupt spirituality
religion is a way for human to explain what they dont understand yet... But feel inside as real...
Religion is a system of dogmatic interpretations of certain faiths. Religion is part of faith. Faith is not religion.
Religion is a buisness.
Religion is how I treat you.
I would say Religion is that which seeks to unite man's soul with his immediate nature by solving his enigma.
How does religion do that considering the fact that religion has thus far divided mankind into catogories..? I am this and you are that? Makes no sense in a universal world..
Religion is the art of living for the unwise men. Who dont know rules of living happily.
Are there common traits of the non religion group of people? The so called 'wise men' you so aptly worded. You define people with religion so confidently, must have a relatively well defined definition of the other. That's why I ask.
I am not saying wise men r not religious. İ just said if u suffer lot then religion can give u guidelines to how to live peacefully. İts got bit deeper meaning
Aman Mcghee Good job. What about religious people who don't know rules of living happily? I'm not stalking you. Just wanna understand what you're actually trying to convey..
For unhappy religious guy u have spritualism
Now dont say unhappy spritual, cause they r themselves to blame.
Most of today's religion is a mans construct. Religion is the dogma for the religious group. Dogma being the laws and practices defined to meet the interaction/s of this group with their God, with the world and people outside of the group.
steven.. Name one thing in this world you live in.. What, if any, is not men's construct?
All of nature and the inhabitants of the world
You know the things God made.
Ok. But I thought you don't believe in the God idea?
I am a Christian. Neither the NT [Paul's writings] nor Christ covenant with Christians preached a religion.
Religion is nothing but a group of people with some set of rules, created fundamentals and predictions. Which has own boundaries..
But not nothing, bro. Still something, valueless or not.
Valued or valueless depends on your thoughts and teachings.
vinayak So.. Ultimately, in the final analysis, with or without value? Nothing.. Or still something? (I'm trapped in your word "... Nothing but.. ")
Now we are to listen to those without religion to understand what a religion is or isn't. So we should go to the least knowing person/s to get answers? HA And even more funny is the atheist thinks they know. Their self grandios is hallarious.
O-oo.. Do not wake the dragons, bro..
You have no idea do you? Most athesits are quite knowlegable about the religion they left. Because they read the book.
Well if you "read the book" you must be an expert!!!! I have heard this most of my life and still find is totally funny, but all so sad for them.
Well, you continue worshipping a menavolant god as love. I will keep my personal power and be free.
It ain't over yet, gentlemen.. "the machine is still on, Moira!.. "
