What is a good protein shake? I been going to the gym everyday and can't lose weight I don't eat meat so I need protein.. I was never as big as I am and it's driving me crazy I tried several diets thanks
Muscle weighs more than fat, so you won't lose weight going to the gym. Go by your measurements, and how your clothes and body feel. I liked Vega One, but the Clean Protein version of their shake gave me horrible stomach cramps and diarrhea.
First of all - diets don't work Look what else you eat - anything processed, ready ? What about stress? All this has to do a lot with you being able to loose weight ..
take out carbs. Also get good nutrients esp if you do not eat meat. I like hommade protein shakes like this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTeop4xVDlE
Hi Ma , My husband and I use TruPlenish once a day in conjunction with eating low GI foods, exercise and a few other things. It is a high protein vegan friendly complete meal shake. It is soy free, dairy free, gluten free, gmo free, has no artificial sweeteners, flavours or colours. Would you like me to send you some info?
Hi Pat, all foods have a GI (glycemic index) rating. The lower the rating, the slower we metabolise the food, the lower the peak in our blood sugars and less is converted to fat. We eat a range of low GI fruits and vegetables, protein sources, whole grain foods, nuts etc. We do eat a little of the medium GI but try to avoid high GI foods. If you google low GI foods you can get a lot of information and recipes and the university of Sydney has a page where you can search the Gi rating for different foods. Happy to chat more if you would like any more information and if you want more specific details on the foods we eat.
The body only processes a certain amount at a time & everything else turns to sugar & fat! They told me l had diabetes after a blood test so l changed everything bad for good & learned alot but one thing the doc said a few times was you can eat more meals a day but less! A little bigger tha a fist or so & then it becomes mental & when u get some control there the stomach shrinks a bit! I dropped 40lbs so far in a little over a month when daily exercize only l would lose 10 a day but put it back on too! Now l don't have to work out to keep it off but like to exercize anyway!
& l don't have diabetes! As soon as u get a surprise blood test where ur levels r off they put u on taking readings & on meds that u really should google side effects for since most people throw in the towel rather than change & exercize! But the meds gradually destroy organs & make u need stronger doses so its well worth the change of habits to be free of the bs in the long run! & u'll probably b a much happier person!
jim I had blood test done because my hair is falling out and can't lose weight they said my sugar was high I'm seeing s ent dr on Thursday my sugar read at 123.
They say take a test 4 hrs after eating & exercize but its alot like blood pressure tests depending on how much u'v been moving around u get a different read pretty much every time. I found between 4 & 1/2 to 5 1/2 hrs after it goes down & then back up! I have a True results one $15 & wanted to take extra reads without messing with the average readings on it & got a cvs one which was raising the same times by 75 points. Anyway l just got another box of True strips & tested every hour & half hours to see for myself what was going on since they can tend to b so vague about things. Maybe ur eating bigger helpings than u should? Everything u eat raises ur blood sugar & some things more than others! Maybe u have alpechia or whatever. U should google diabetes cuz theyr probably gonna hit u with that & alopecia to see the deficiencies that create it. & get a few books from ur local library about diabetes to see which foods r low med & high in raising it & just in general. Smaller meals, more but spaced out more! Mine were in the 120's & higher average. Just means ur eating more at a time & maybe need to cut out the bad stuf even tho it seems so good! It took a few tests for me to get it right but am kind of glad since l eat alot better & don't have to deal with it now. Its just better habits. & sugar free stuf taste better than with now. Good luck with it!
I started drinking GC Control shakes and lost 1 inch on my waist in the 1st month, GC Control's low-glycemic nutritional foundation is high in protein and fiber and contains patented Oligo mineral-delivery technology and a patent pending blend of highly concentrated natural ingredients with clinically backed blood sugar metabolism benefits. Oh, and it taste amazing.
Did they just test tsh or free t3 and t4? Also even though your tsh might technically be ok.... Doesn't mean it's not effecting you. Those are just guidelines. My thyroid waa technically fine at at 1.02, but i feel 100xs better at 1.6.Also ask for an adrenal panel could be stress related.
I love Form from Rain... Organic seed protein--tastes great! Very bioavailable and quickly absorbed - high concentration of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), which fuel muscles and stimulate protein production. It's 100% natural and vegan, made only delicious Sacha Inchi Seed, Pea Protein, Pumpkin Seed, Chia Seed, Cranberry seed-yum! This is where I get mine wholesale: http://www.myrainlife.com/seedprotein
It's tough to get a variety of nutrients from a plant based diet but protein is not one of them. However if you are doing a lot of working out then you would benefit from extra protein and the best protein shake on the market is from Rain as mentioned by Dr Shaun and Rod Eubanks.
As a certified holistic health coach the best one I have found ingredient and taste wise is arbonne's. I personally never drank protein shakes prior because I wasn't thrilled with either the ingredients I saw or the taste
I recommend to my clients who are looking for one. It is so full of good things it can actually be a full meal replacement, and it has a full amino profile, is vegan and plant based made from real Whole Foods. Happy to share a sample with you if you wish to try.
Hi janet / I'm glad you found something that works well for you. I have not used that one personally but I have had a client try that one and they said they couldn't stand the chalkiness factor . also I'm off able to offer my clients and amazing discount with arbonne thanks!
That is weird because it is not chalky at all. Actually people say how they love it because it does not taste chalky. Do you know what flavor she tried.
I love the Sunwarrior brand. The flavour is amazing and so is the quality. You can also try adding spirulina to smoothies - it is also high in protein. Sprouts are another great source and it is easy to make these at home for cheap! Good luck, Ma Gianni Dejesus Dejesus Dejesus Dejesus Dejesus Dejesus Dejesus.
I just noticed that you said you have gained the weight around your stomach. This could be a sign that you are going through a stressful time. High cortisol levels make us gain weight in the midsection. If you think this may be the case for you, work on decreasing the source of the stress or your reaction to the event. You can also work on meditation or some other form of relaxation to decrease stress.
I try to have at least 20g of protein within 1 hr of waking up. This way my body is programmed to know it will get fed and not go into starve or preservation mode.
Arbonne!! Such amazing products. Pure, safe, beneficial. Vegan, plant based protein, dairy free, soy free, Kosher certified, no artifical dyes, flavors or sweeteners. Could go on and on and that doesn't even. Touch on how amazing it has been for myself and my entire family!
It's worth looking into. Felt free to message me if you'd like any additional info!

What is cg? Where do I buy it?
You can purchase online. I absolutely love it. I'll PM you details.
Ok
Check your thyroid.
Doctor said was ok but I feel it's not right
Did they just test tsh or free t3 and t4? Also even though your tsh might technically be ok.... Doesn't mean it's not effecting you. Those are just guidelines. My thyroid waa technically fine at at 1.02, but i feel 100xs better at 1.6.Also ask for an adrenal panel could be stress related.
Ok thank you
Take your thyroid test results and google if your levels are normal. Dont rely on the reference range given to you by the lab.
Iron Vegan Sprouted Protein seems to be a favorite powder in our home!

Jennifer Koehler did you see pure it was??? Anyone can be a wholesale buyer for a lifetime for a one time fee of just 29.95.
I agree with the comments above about Rain seed protein, Form. I drink it daily and love it!
Add some collagen powder to a smoothie. It's super good for you. Bulletproof makes the collagen
For real? Or is this a joke?

Yes! That was my go-to brand before I found the Form
