Yes. I always look for organic and expeller or cold pressed. If you want to go a step further, get extra virgin.. This particular one is refined so it will have no taste. I prefer the taste of coconut so I get the unrefined. ENJOY
Unrefined... FYI, I got the refined the first time too and it gave me a horrible rash on my face for months. This is the one I use now (it is unrefined, organic) and absolutely love it. I put it all over my body and face.
Yes, just store it in the cupboard.... İt is normal for it to melt and harden depending on the room temperature... Storing it in the fridge might cause condensation when you take it out to use it and the water can get in and cause mold
What do you all use it for? I have two friends that take a teaspoon a day. Is that what you all are using it for? I went and bought some ( below) but don't think it's the right one so it been using it for cooking. Did someone say above a certain kind has no health benefits?
Personally I would only use the melted / liquid version minimally as far as internal / external consumption, therefore I would use it for making makeup, sunscreen, toothpaste, things like that, if at all.
The lady at the health food store told me a tablespoon for every 50 pounds of body weight. But you need to work your way up to it because it will sit you on the toilet all day if you dont.
And remember, it is not a super food if it is not super for YOU. So be aware of your sensitivities. I have been consuming high levels of coconut ever since I went raw in 2010 and my health has been challenged in many ways and come to find out that I am actually allergic to it and also to avocado. So while these foods are super and they are amazing and they have so many wonderful aspects to enjoy, they don't for me because my body has a sensitivity to them. I also realize that this is an immune response and as my body heals in other ways I will be able to incorporate these foods back in even if only in small amounts.
Ive lost 80 lbs this last year. Its getting harder to get thw pounds off now. I started having a table spoon of coconut oil every morning for breakfast and ive lost 5 pounds in one week now. It blows my mind. Normally I lose a pound a week if I am lucky. This stuff definitely is super
NEVER get anything "refined" or "Enriched". These two words mean to filter out all the natural nutrients & replace them with man-made synthetics & other chemicals.
Claudia CA the one I posted a pic of. I read a blog about how to lose weight using it and it works. Im also doing a low carb low fat diet. And exercising. But I didn't change my routine at all and it made me drop 5 lbs quick.. Pretty impressive really
Liquid coconut oil sold is NOT coconut oil any more! It has had all the great qualities separate out of it so it can be in liquid form. (I wonder if Monsanto owns the rights to it also;)
Nothing wrong if it turned to liquid. It's supposed to when brought up to temp. If you keep it in a cool place it will turn back to solid. Nothing wrong with that!
there are 2 different kinds of coconut oil (minus the unrefined, refined etc...) there is a coconut oil specially made to stay liquid no matter what temp it is ..... This is the one that people shy away from .... Then there is all the others that will change from solid to liquid depending on the temp
It's refined. Better to get unrefined

I use this kind in my hair.
The best one to get is organic, cold processed, unrefined.... But you can still use this for cooking or something
I would get Unrefined cold pressed
Unrefined cold pressed it what we buy
Yes
Organic unrefined virgin is what I use.
OMGosh, I was SO close to getting unrefined, but it just sounded like the wrong kind. Ha. Thanks all.
Unrefined... FYI, I got the refined the first time too and it gave me a horrible rash on my face for months.

Yes as long as it has the usda organic lable
OrgNic, unrefined, cold pressed is what you want. That's ok for cooking. But it won't do anything for you health wise.
It's still good!! I use both unrefined and refined, as long as it says organic.
Everything about it is good except that it's refined. Look for unrefined next time.
Unrefined expeller pressed or cold pressed is best. Always unrefined.
This ones great
It's fine for cooking but I wouldn't use it on your body.
Extra Virgin, Unrefined, Cold Pressed, Organic Coconut Oil.
It's "okay" but if you want the best, you want unrefined, cold pressed.
always get virgin or extra virgin
Muscle testing is the way to find out if it is good for you
Yes absolutely ..
My personal favorite is Nutiva because it is such a great quality product and because the company is so amazing that I want to support them
Also, you may not want to keep it in the refrigerator.

You want unrefined for the health benefits
Organic unrefined cold pressed is better.
Oh ok .... Thank you and you take a teaspoon a day of unrefined?

The liquid one.... I wouldn't even use it for those things ... Maybe as a carrier oil for essential oils.... Maybe
Coconut oil is great for your brain when ingested.

No. Get cold pressed
Unrefined is better for you:)
NO, it must be unrefined and cold pressed
use UNrefINED ONLY. COLD PRESSED.
Unrefined is the best
Unrefined
Michelle Devine, using what kind of coconut oil?
unrefined and cold processed is the best type of coconut oil to use.
NEVER get anything "refined" or "Enriched". These two words mean to filter out all the natural nutrients & replace them with man-made synthetics & other chemicals.

Always choose Unrefined!!
should say "Unrefined" - as well as organic
Get unrefined. This stuff can still be used but the unrefined has more benefits.
I use only unrefined
Liquid coconut oil sold is NOT coconut oil any more! It has had all the great qualities separate out of it so it can be in liquid form. (I wonder if Monsanto owns the rights to it also;)
UNrefINED is best
I get the one thats non gmo verified
Thanks, y'all.
U need a unrefined one
Raw organic coconut oil is best
When I got it in the mail and saw that it was completely liquid I knew something had to be wrong
Do we use this unrefined organic one for cooking too? Or do we get something else for cooking?
I love Tropical Traditions! They have a LOT of info!
Nothing wrong if it turned to liquid. It's supposed to when brought up to temp. If you keep it in a cool place it will turn back to solid. Nothing wrong with that!

the liquid only one actually say liquid on it ... They do something to it to make it that way
You need unrefined
Unrefined is better. You can use it for your nails hair skin.
all of the above is true but no one mentioned it must also be in glass not plastic
michelle... Plastic has chemicals that can leach out into what is in the container.
That sounds a little extreme. So I should never buy anything contained in plastic?
NUTIVA is the best the if I could wait for shipping and pay the extra little amount I'd say tropical traditions!
Why must it be in glass mine is always usually in plastic!
