I've decided to give up dairy bc I'm not a cow. I've went two days and feel so much different already. I feel like I can breathe. My throat feels more open. I am needing suggestions on how to maintain a healthy diet without dairy. TIA
What do you normally eat that's dairy?
I lived on cheese, butter, yogurt, and milk.
I've replaced milk with almond milk
Ok. I agree on improving your diet in general, but you can find substitutions for those things. For yogurt try the so delicious brand. There are alternative cheeses as well. For butter you can use butter flavored coconut oil. It got me off of my butter addiction. I'll send a few pics.
Here's a good cooking oil
Flax milk, almond are good alternatives and dayia has cheese and other products made with pea protein
I haven’t had dairy in years and never worried about how to maintain a healthy diet without it... Lots of greens fruits nuts seeds good organic grass fed meats and fish.
Okay so I can do most of that but I'm trying to cut back on meats and only like tuna fish. I do eat beans. So do u think I'd be okay just eating a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, rice, eggs, tuna fish?
Sabrina Kendall yes, you’d be fine with just those things. It’s what I do because I have a dairy allergy. Every few months I’ll have ‘fake’ cheese, but I find I dont miss it anymore.
Yes. You can get enough protein from veggies.
I use Silk Cocoanut Milk
That might have carrgeenan as a preservative. That's cancerous
I’m finding most brands are removing caragenan.
It’s not that you have to give it up you are eating the wrong kind.... Have you tried raw milk or heavy cream and raw cheese?
Everytime I eat cheese, I feel like I'm choking on it. Do u think it's the cheese? I feel better going without it the past couple of days.
Sabrina Kendall like I said it may be the wrong kind. Are you drinking enough water?
I drink tons of water. I'm a big water person.
Milk is designed by nature to make calves gain weight quickly. And since we are not calves—or even babies any longer—our bodies do not require milk. Contrary to popular belief and advertisement, bone strength does not come from consuming milk and other dairy products but from plant foods. In fact, dairy is a highly inflammatory food for most people. And more processing ("skimming") does not make it any healthier, only more inflammatory.
Cook with coconut milk and coconut cream. Almond milk for any substitute if u eat cereal. The only dairy in my house is yogurt, butter, and cheese
Would it make food taste like coconut?
You do not need dairy or meat. Do not worry about it or protein intake. You Do not need fake milks either. Eat whole foods, variety lots of veggies.
Thanku. This is what I want to hear!!!
Tuna is fine but can have mercury so limit it. There is a reason vegetarians are healthy and people with cancer go vegan. Make sure you eat nutrient dense foods and not processed foods. Shop at your local farmers market. I still put a little milk in my coffee and high quality ice cream once in a while and eat a lot less meat. If you continue eating meat it should be grass fed or pastured organic .... And tre ated as a garnish or condiment not a 16 oz steak
Braised daikon is a good replacement for a white potato
Watch all the food things on Netflix if you have it. Some of it is a little over done and dramatic but still informative in ways. Like on one of the shows they try to get people to be vegan for health but politicize it over animal cruelty and say you can still have Oreos the are vegan. Idiots. GMO full of high fructose corn syrup and artificial stuff. Try to eliminate sugar as well. Stevia and local raw honey are the 2 best for you
Hemp milk is one of the healthier alternatives
I did no dairy for 30 days and the next time I tried to drink milk it tasted so gross. Easy transition after 30 days I promise
I suggest a whole 30 instead of working on replacing all of those things.
Dairy is not an actual part of a human diet. We all been brain washed to belive we have to compinsate for no having dairy. Cows eat grass and they make milk. They don’t eat fruits or meat and they grow 600-1000lbs just fine. Just eat your veggies and a rainbow of colour led foods and you’ll be fine. Iv been dairy free for 8 years and pregnant 33 times back to back. I have never had to supplement or change anything. The key is to eat healthy and not garbage
Pregnant 33 times!
Cyrus Kennedy oops ( feels like I have been pregnant my woke life! Lol 3 in 3 years make the Mom brain a real thing)
I was gonna say that's gotta be a record
I make almond milk
For milk substitutes I like almond the best for baking & cooking (it’s flavor is mild) unless it’s pumpkin pie then I use the coconut Milk in a CAN. For rich, “half & half type” I use cashew milk in coffee. Just check for unsweetened so you don’t have all the added sugar.
My son used to get ear infections monthly starting at 6 months they thought about tubes. The last doctor I brought my son into for a ear infection said we should try cutting out dairy. Well we couldnt do that completely so we switch our milk to almond milk and only kept cheese in his diet. He hasn't had a ear infection since just over a year now... İ highly recommend cutting out dairy if you have ear pain or infections. I told the same doctor last week that it worked and she was so unbelievably happy. She is his primary doctor now.
What kind of climate do you live in? I don't drink milk. İf however you live in a hot dry climate sometimes cultured dairy is good for the body I think most ppl do not need any dairy in their diets. Each body is different. I do believe the dairy industry needs to ensure humane treatment of all animals
I live in Arkansas. We have crazy weather here. 61 degrees yesterday supposed to snow today.
Lol same here 60s then sleeting! Your probably fine with no dairy. Just listen to your body you know you best!
I get kinda squeaky joints if that make any sense and then I know I need to eat some yogurt or cheese. And it helps
Thanks for the tip. Appreciate it
The Paleo diet does not contain dairy. You could find a lot of recipes by looking into that diet.
Hemp milk has most health benifits i found when i researched all milk alternatives and taste awesome
The good thing is life is healthier without you don’t even have to go out of your way to try
Raw dairy is th only nontoxic option... Any processed dairy is not really food... Non nutritive...
Have you heard of Moringa?
Google it! Moringa has more calcium than milk. An it's a super food, we grow it! Let me know what you think after you look it up.
Very interesting. I wonder if I could get it at a health food store
Maybe? We have very competitive prices an more Moringa products than the ones that I've seen.
Yo all dark greens have a but load of calcium so does soy and other non dairy milk x
Congrats! Great decision! I have been on gluten, dairy, sugar and soy free diet for 4years
I was thinking moringa leaf powder as well!! I get mine off amazon I believe
“Bovine juice” is not meant for human consumption. We are meant to breastfeed & only until it’s time to wean. People are so addicted to dairy! Good for you
Brown cow/ jersey is the only milk we should consume Holstein or commercial milk is mixed or all Holstein which is not compatible look up a1 and a2 protein
Vegan!! You will feel even better than you do now!! Look for Forks Over Knives! It's a documentary and recipes on their website.
Dairy affects all organs.
Never felt better since I quit dairy. Can't believe Doctors diagnosing me with "abdominal migraines" & the like when they could have just said, try not eating cows milk.
I was the biggest milk drinker til I got cancer and cold turkeyed milk and sugar. You can do it, just do it before you get to my stage. Its well worth it to give up milk!
We don’t need dairy at all.
