Relaxtion techniques to combat with the steroids

Day 1 of chemo complete. This was the long day of my 1st 3 day cycle.
Stage IIIA SCLC.
I've had chemo in the past for Leukemia, and this one doesn't feel much different. Even though they're completely different drugs.
I do remember the steroid injections now.
Anyone need a house painted, car waxed, cat shaved?
I have too much energy for my own good.
I need to learn relaxtion techniques to combat the steroids.
Any ideas out there?

What chemo are you getting?

Robin Redmond

Cisplatin & Etoposide. Start radiation mid December.

Ed Koskie Hood 3 years

That;s what I got the first day too. Then yesterday I just got Etoposide and thought I was going to die, They had to stop my chemo, so no chemo today either. I only hope they have it worked out in three weeks when I go back. Best of luck to you

Robin Redmond 3 years

I also, found out a lot of people are allergic to it.

When I was doing chemo and jacked up from the steroids I did a lot of jigsaw puzzles - it's mindless and was something to do all night

Thats a really good idea. Lots of energy, but a very short attention span tonight.

I would say use a guided meditation tape ... But when Mom tried that after Chemo she ended up sitting there reWriting the entire thing because she said it could have been done much better!

I just talked my husbands ear off. He is usually a talker so it was irritating him - lol

Deborah Olsen 3 years

You can call mine, he never shuts the hell up ever!

Robin Redmond 3 years

You would never get a word in with mine. I am serious as ever too!

Robin Redmond 3 years

This is so funny - I forgot about my husband looking at me one night and asking me if we should talk to the doctor about decreasing the steroids a little bit. I'm the talker and I think he was about to lose his mind!. God bless him for all he has to put up with me

LOL it is so good we can laugh about this.

Cycle 1 is done. Over. Today they put the little Neulasta machine on. Set to inject tomorrow PM. Next week brings new challanges. Port draw for blood work, and a visit to Radiation Dr. All is good so far. Thanks for all of the support.
