No matter how much I take care of myself, no matter how often I shower, I am still losing handfuls of hair, so I'm done trying. I bet within the year I'm going to need a weave/wig. *sigh*. I use argan oil shampoo. Tests always come back negative for problems with free t3 and t4. I have pcos, im taking iron and spironolactone. Idk what to do.
Do you ahem high blood pressure? Have you tried an elimination diet? Im a Natural Health Consultant if I knew more about what you eat daily I may be able to give you some meaningful recommendations.
I do not have high blood pressure
Why the spironolactone?
The side effect is to lower testosterone
Is there not another drug to use for that? Spironolactone is a diuretic with a black box warning.. I would try to drop it as soon as possible..
The ironic thing is a potential side effect to spironolactone is increased hair growth.. Maybe it has increased your hair loss as well?
I have heard that it's common to lose hair from pcos.
It can also cause abnormal hair growth.
But it's literally handfuls a day
Look into black cohosh. There are side effects, but it might help. I have taken it and I liked it.
What are the side effects?
I didn't have any. But look into it if you are interested.
Hair loss is caused by a toxic liver
Detox it http://www.ener-chi.com/books/the-amazing-liver-gallbladder-flush/
This book sounds very good
It explains how toxins cause today's health issues because the liver has over 500 bodily functions that it's responsible for
Liver and kidneys both!
Liver health directly affects kidney health

Some vitamin supplements for healthier hair and hair loss include: B-Complex Vitamins: Vitamin B7, also called Biotin, can strengthen your hair follicles. Zinc and iron: These minerals protect hair from shedding, getting dry and brittle. VitaminA: Vitamin A helps produce scalp oil, known as sebum
Here is a great article to help ya. https://www.nutrafol.com/blog/reasons-for-hair-loss-and-vitamins-to-stop-it/

I have pcos and never had that problem but now I'm pregnant and losing it like crazy. Dr said it's a hormone thing and they also just found I have a thyroid problem so could be that also??
Do u take birth control? When they put me on that for pcos I felt better.
All of my hormone levels are fine it might just be my genes, Idk.
One of the many symptoms of PCOS is hair loss. I now you can do things to help, it's not an issue for me so I'm not sure what they are. I'll try to share a link for a great FB group for PCOS.
PCOS diva is one, and there's a PCOS 30 day challenge page to that is good.
I have pcos, change your diet. I have reversed all my symptoms except for a little chin hair (not much) Get off of birth control pills Get rid of all gluten/dairy Eat paleo Make veggies/fruit be the main source of carbs Go easy on the fruit Drink lots of water/herbal teas Walk 30 min per day See a fertility acupuncturist All of these will help reduce testosterone etc, for sure ditch the BCpill and have a fertility acupuncturist help regulate your cycles hugs! I know it's hard
pcos...? Avoid sugar and carbo, drink diluted ACV before meal, a cup of spearmint tea 2 times a day, iodine, avoid estrogen food such as soya.. It really works for me... Just google it for every function...
Stop showering so much first of all, you are getting chlorine, cloramines, and flouride, not good. lisa , is right Iodine, exercise (weight bearing), sunlight and meditation. It is adrenal fatigue and numbers are not always off.

As with most health problems, I think the only real solution is to improve your overall health dramatically. Eat a lot more fresh vegetables. Even lot more vegetables that are cooked even. Eat more fruits. Eat no processed foods. If you eat meat, eat a small amount. Things like that. Drink a lot more water. Get better sleep, and drink minimal caffeine.
I have a friend who sells Monat. I don't sell it, I'm just a customer, but you should see the results people get from it. AHmazing! This photo is of a 93 yr old woman. The before and after photos of people's hair is ridiculous. It's worth trying. It's safe, yet concentrated, and will last you a long time. A little goes a long way.
Have you had your progesterone levels checked? You may need Vitex, Dim detox and high dose bioidentical progesterone cream along with detoxified iodine. These things helped me. Feel free to message me for more info.
Tiffini Gillis did a hormone specialist test your levels like a naturopathic doctor? I might get a second opinion personally. But what are your sleep habits and diet like? How is your insulin level and body weight (BMI)? High insulin and excess unhealthy body fat can also cause hair loss. If you aren't already, I would set a goal to be asleep no later than 10pm every night, including weekends, and getting at least 8+ hrs of sleep per night. The hours before midnight are much more important than the hours after midnight. So it's better to go to bed early than to sleep in to get those 8+ hours. Also, eliminate all sugar and processed carbs from your diet and dairy as well which can cause inflammation. Eat lots of veggies (6-8 cups per day), especially raw and green, to give your body nutrients it may be lacking. Eat grass fed and wild caught protein from beef, poultry, fish, eggs or plant based proteins if you are vegetarian. Take a high quality supplement to give you the rest of the nutrients your body needs each day that food just can't give you. If you need suggestions for this, feel free to message me. These things will help immensely with any underlying adrenal and or insulin issues you may be having that those tests aren't showing.
I'm 3rd shift
Tiffini Gillis oh yeah. That makes it really tough then. Just try to make your own schedule with sleep then and keep it as consistent as possible.
I would look into gut health. We need to be healthy on the inside to look healthy on the outside
Many people are getting improved hair growth from the inside out with liquid collagen. I have been using the product for a few months and have had improvements in my skin and joint health. It improves so many aspects of the body including gut health, skin, hair, nails, gums, joints. I also sell it and happy to get you more info if you'd like.

Pros causes hair loss
I know, bit not usually this bad.
When you have a thyroid problem (as I do) "normal" range doesn't cut it. You need to be optimal. So most doctors will tell you 'you're fine' even when you're saying I feel awful. Hair loss is a sign of thyroid problems. I'd fond a naturopath or functional Med doc in your area. I follow this page & their recommendations. And once I did (I had and doctor introduce me to it) I felt a million times better. There's a section for finding doctors too.
Have your thyroid tested.
