Natural remedies on depression and anxiety?

I have suffered for years with depression and anxiety. I recently have been trying to find supplements and suggestions for helping myself in a more natural way.

Looking for recommendations.

I currently take a super B complex.
Fish oil (more heart based).
Melatonin and magnesium for sleep (insomnia on top of my other illnesses).

Any thoughts or recommendations?

Today’s been a really tough day. Any thoughts?

VItamin d3 cured my depression when no antidepressant worked (and they tried them all). 20,000IU/day in winter, 10,000IU/day in summer. Bonus: Protects against the flu and a bunch of other things!

Are these okay

Those will work. I buy the 5,000 or 10,000 IU so I don't have to take as many caps but this will work.

Do you have a certain brand you like to take

Megan Winston 3 years

This is what I usually order https://www.amazon.com/Garden-Life-Raw-Supplement-Vegetarian/dp/B005JAT318/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8

So your bottle goes quick, is it safe to take that dose?

Your Super B Complex could be making you sicker if you have a MTHFR genetic mutation. Up to 40% of the population has at least one mutation.

And magnesium is best absorbed through the skin. I make a spray with magnesium flakes and distilled water and spray it all over my body everyday

Vitamin D3, GABA, Essential Oils, clean diet, exercise and sunlight.

Also, the comment about mthfr is legit too.
Not everyone has it or is affected by it but if you are I can tell you how significant the problems can become with the wrong supplements and diet.

What’s your diet?? Supplements aren’t treating root, but can help in the meantime. Clean up your diet, detox, and heal yourself!

Also, peppermint oil. Rubbing it on neck & inhaling.

Chamomile tea has really helped me with anxiety, it can also help with sleep. Valerian root tea, as previously mentioned, really helps with sleep as well. What did the trick for me was probiotics... Made a world of difference.

Hi Autumn, my husband used to suffer from depression and had great results from some natural nutritional supplements. If you are open to adding some of these to your diet, let me know and I can share some information on what worked for him.

Alpha Stim or the Fisher Wallace Stimulator, CBD oil magnesium And the 8 hours of quality sleep it will help you get. Good bye to incapacitating anxiety and depression. Then comes the desire to eat better, ie no sugar or depressants like alcohol then a daily exercise plan that boosts neurotransmitters that help you feel well, sleep better and motivated to face life with motivation and intent.

Eating healthy and excersise everyday!! Find a little time for yourself.. Whether it's a quiet walk somewhere peaceful, a long bath with some Epsom salt n lavender essentail oil or curled up in bed with a good book and a cup of chamomile tea ( very soothing and relaxing). Excersise alone does wonders!! Essentail oils are also amazing..

I'm so sorry about your suffering, but so excited about you reaching out! This is how I feel when people get serious about healing:

I have lots of thoughts about healing depression/anxiety, as I've been walking that road for 4 years now. It's nice to find shortcuts. Before I spend a bunch of time sharing my mile-long list of things I've tried that I've found helpful, can I ask a few questions? Feel free NOT to answer them if you don't want to. 1. Do you know what may be causing the depression? Was there a stressful period that set this off, or did it come on out of the blue? Understanding origins makes a big difference in the kind of tools I'd try first. 2. What are your diet & sleep patterns like? 3. What's your belief about thoughts causing feelings?

Alisa Crosby 3 years

4. Are you hoping to find some magic combination of non-drug healing supplements --- basically just a healthier kind of "pill" to fix the problem? That was me for a lonnnnnnnnnnng long long time.

Alisa Crosby 3 years

Mental health can be complicated, but the tools that work don't necessarily have to be. Dr Burns' book called Feeling Good really works.

Alisa Crosby 3 years

Nutrition is so important. I eliminated Dairy, Sugar, and Gluten as well as processed foods. It helps tremendously. Also be sure exercise, it is a major mood booster. Drink a lot of water but not with meals, a half hour before or 2 hours after. Eat fermented foods and/or probiotics! Healthy fats! I see Dr. Kelly Brogan, she has a very helpful book, A Mind of Your Own, check it out. I also support with essential oils that help with my mood and support my body systems, because a healthy body leads to a healthy mind. Said a prayer for you. I know how bad it sucks
