If God is the creator of all things then he created Satan. He created him with the capacity to do evil, therefore God must know evil, indeed he must be its creator. God created both good and evil, to give us choice between the two. We do not however need to be subjected to so much evil to achieve this choice, to understand the difference. God therefore stands guilty of being the creator of evil and suffering on a huge scale because he put no limit on the evil and suffering of the human race and our fellow creatures. Much of this suffering and evil is aimed at the weak and impoverished, there is no justification for this amount of unreconcilable evil.
Therefore God cannot be wholly good, all loving, he is not even concerned in keeping suffering to a minimum. Conclusion: God is to be held responsible for evil from the beginning of creation, or God is not totally good as we are asked to believe. It leads one to ask is there a God at all?
Satan is just the personification of our fears and temptations, Satan is just a symbol, there is no being. Besides God is more evil than Satan.
More than you!!!!
Our temporal experience speaks about a higher existence, for all of us. Death is but a fleeting moment.
Pl elaborate with reference to post directly
That evil, pain, betrayal, hate, all god's creation? Of course. Does it mean God is malevolent? No. At death, or murder, the horror stays with us, the witness, for a reason. The soul however, continue on, for next adventure. Do I sound arrogant for not appreciating the horror of murderous death? No. I'm still here, and the depth of it stays with me, with us. For the dead soul, it is his past.. All pain, sorrow, loss, agony, all come, to pass. Everything is temporal.
Mohd Harvey so they can be condoned?
Pandurangarao Jefferson No. You'd not getting me right. For food to be delicious and nutritious, do you condemn hunger?
mohd we condemn the entity that created hunger without adequate provisions for meeting the demand. Don't we blame the engineer for not providing adequate drinking water but only drainage system?
Yes, verily there is a God and He is fully justified in creating good and evil. We are responsible for all the destruction on the earth as we are His representative on the earth and we are supposed to rule as our Creator is ruling the entire universe with justice. All the creations of God except living beings are not gifted with free will like the sun, moon and stars... All the things are for our benefits and are in our service. They can't disobey their Lord. We have given free will as we have given senses to differentiate between good and evil. With all our senses if we follow devil instead of God and make destruction on the earth then we are responsible for our actions and The God will ask in the hereafter about our deeds because He is seeing all of us very closely as He should and He will decide the case in the Hereafter. Then you will not be punished an aught more than your evil deeds and you will receive His rewards for your good deeds.
That is your personal conclusion from the mindset of religious dogmatic conditioning BUT in universal truth (DHARMAi. E. COSMIC LAWS ) anything and everything in this creation (universe) follows LAWS OF KARMA since its an self-correcting (evolving) system (a creation designed to operate in self- correcting mode of operation).
Aa creation designed to operate....... Who designed it to operate??
It is fascinating how viewpoints seem to clash while being right at all ends..
God is the REAL GOD OF ALL. HE CAN DO EVERYTHING ACCORDING TO HIS PLAN. HE CANNOT COMMIT SIN, BECAUSE HE IS THE FINAL AND HIGHEST AUTHORITY. Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these [things].
I AM THAT I AM
"There can be but one source of evil and that is good" st Augustine
though I suggest reading St thomas aquinas, On Evil
Better still, study Tesla 3-6-9..
You don't fully realize the origin of Satan/Lucifer. Find out how he turned evil.
And God folded his arms and watched him turn evil and allowed it to happen, so those God is not omnipotent after all.. Lol
No, God is omnipotent, but He gives the people liberty to choose. After all, they'll be judged accordingly on the last day.
Rodrigo Johns why would any God have a need yo judge, and that too only on the last day, so God who knows everything people do, does nothing throughout their entire life, but instead waits for the last day so that he can judge?.. This God of your has a serious problem, about time we started judging him, instead of vice versa?
It is not the flesh that will be judged. You have the liberty to judge Him to blasphemy, but on the last day you will be judged.
Rodrigo Johns what flesh can be judged, it's actions and thoughts that can only be judged, everybody knows that... There is no such thing as blasphemy when it comes to God, any religion that says you cannot question God is not worth following, God has given you brains not to sit on it but use it to transcend words and actions.. You need a lesson on spirituality and common sense it seems, ... Lol All you know is what the bible says, beyond that you lost... Lol
The thing is: God created evil, so he's evil. But evil allows us to recognize goodness, so evil is good. In addition, Intelligence created stupidity, so that there would be something to compare oneself with. So intelligence is stupid. And seeing stupidity is a way to recognize how stupid we actually are, so it is the first step on the way of intelligence. So stupidity is intelligent. I could continue like that for ever, but will it help?
Why can't there be only good and no evil,? Why do we need something to compare with? Is it possible to know something is good without first comparing it to evil? One does not need stupidity to know ones intellegent.. What can happen if we stop comparing, but just merely be.?
Well, what I said was a parody. But that doesn't make it automatically wrong. St Augustine said, evil is lack of goodness (non est malum nisi privatio boni). I sort of agree (I really don't believe in a fundamental evil-ness) but then again, if we don't have this dichotomy, everything just is, it's neither good nor evil.
Leonardo Hamm how about we drop the idea of good and evil totally, experience life in a righteous way, even if it means this world only knows what's good, and we gave no attention to anything what people call bad? What would happen? Thoughts have no power of its own, they always fleeting, it's we who give it power. So my point is that if we do not give any power to evil thoughts, it cannot exist...
Well, yup. But we often do 'evil' things out of stupidity. And then again, we can have the best intentions in the world and have it all well thought but still do something 'evil' because we had an imperfect understanding of how things work. So St Augustine's view is probably imperfect too: Everything won't turn into good if we just do our best to forget evil thoughts. My personal view is that it's about balance. As in nature.
Both of you show some kinds of flow of perception and ideas.. If it's agreeable, I go with leonardo's flow, simply because it is more appeasing and flowing towards balance and equilibrium. Nonetheless, pixi contention is vibrant, It stays though, that pleasure and happiness, for example, find their identity from the absence (thus the necessary presence) of pain and sorrow..
To be sincere I hardly doubt and believe that God is actually the author of good and evil and even if He will be soo dumb enough to create a competitor called Satan.. Those ideologies where human invent and intent to tame and make lame the cognitive faculty of man.. Which wise God will give everyone free will and also give good and evil for us to choose and if so who will be soo foolish to choose evil and suffer eternity while others will go for the good and enjoy eternity as well.. As long as man is ordained with free will and the faculty of reasoning to determine him or guide him in designing his own life, the idea of good and evil, Satan or whatever is solely based on man's own idiosyncrasies.. Its lame to effect the idea of good and evil to God as long as we still don't have any concrete proof.. We only do that apportioning of blame because we still lack some specific comprehensions.
That is if you think Satan is doing a purely dumb job.. Not that I'm supporting Satan..
God never created evil. One must know the origin of evil. Who is the source of evil? Who was he? Why he turned evil? What was he before?
That story behind who was this and that is all heresy u and I in our time have never seen this person hence that becomes a myth... Aside that do we want to say if this particular Satan existed our Ever powerful God who created this rebellious angel cant be destroyed by Our God... And rather he be let to make we men suffer for his own rebellion to come join us and be a con man afflicting us to do he is contrary which still stipulates his achievements of also being a god of the evil if that's what we want to understand that will still be a big contradiction to our dear Father above.. It makes no sense.. Hence even if it made sense we have never seen any proof of him Satan holding another man's had a with knife to stab another to show that he also rules but our own selfish acts leads us into making others feel discomfort. Most atrocities are caused based on one's self seeking or self interest base on intent or purpose..
Angels are spirits. They're immortal. They cannot be destroyed nor extinguish, but they can be conquered. Satan has this quality. I believe Satan can't be stopped in doing evil. It is for us as a human being to sidestep in sin. It is our obligation not to do sin.
God did not create evil. Evil is the absence, or denial, of Good. If one is close to the fire, then there is heat. If one moves away from the fire he experiences cold. Is fire therefore the source of cold?
Hot and cold have nothing to do with good and evil. Your analogy isnt logical. And of course God created evil, if He created good, then by default evil exists.
richard, it seems like you're disagreeing with the analogy, and then using it. What is Good is that which aligns with His nature. God is free, and Creation reflects that freedom. Would it be "good" to have a Universe in which everything was managed by some divine puppet strings? I think that answer is obvious simply because, being human and living in that freedom, we recognise it as a good thing. So, for there to /be/ no choice would not only be evil in itself, but to the point of making Good or Evil completely meaningless, if we could use such terms at all.
There is no god and life and universe are wholy apathetic. It is only us that laybol anything good or evil. In the grander scale, good and evil dont even exist.
So you know this because you have full access to all human experience, or because you have investigated all that can be known? It is ever the anomaly, that a finite human being denies the infinite by claiming, himself, to be omniscient. There is nothing left to be learned, no wisdom or knowledge to be discovered, because richard has now arrived. Such a mind, above all others, is to be pitied.
Ignorance need not know wisdom when it is pitied. Which is more pitiable? There is an infinite amount of knowlege, to put a limit on it, to even suggest that all can be learned, is most
when you pass judgement on your creator, are you not guilty of a crime bigger than treason? The bible says in the book of Isaiah "I created good and I created disaster (evil) . Yes God created evil (that which causes us pain). But just as food is nourishment for the body, pain is nourishment for the soul, and God brings pain upon an individual based on the specific needs of that soul. For some, it is as a punishment for sins committed, to cleanse and as restitution for their crime. For others, more advanced souls, it is for the cultivation of virtues in the soul, for it is through pain that virtue is acquired, and for others still, often souls striving towards perfection, the pain inflicted on them by God is a price or sacrifice paid for the conversion, or assistance of weaker souls, in diverse ways: For example stephens death won the conversion of paul for him... But we humans always think we know as much as God. We do not realise that the laws that determine the fate of living things, or humans on earth and in the hereafter are more complex than the scientific laws that guide non living matter, which law we only struggle to barely grasp
