Hi everybody, how is with potato? I know the sweet potato is fine, but the white ?
Haven't tried them since diagnosed
You are so strong -:)
White potato is a night shade- not good for ra- they cause me to have a flare
A definate no no
I'm OK as long as I have it once a week depends on individual xx
I don't eat white but have no problem with organic red, purple or gold. They are better for you anyway since there is less starch.
Didn't know that
They metabolize differently, just like white flour or rice.
Everyone is different, you will have to see how you react to it. I can have potatoes now and then with no problem. Just would not have every day.
I have absolutely no issues with my nightshades, including potatoes.
Although I do tend to eat purple and red, those are the ones I favor and I don't have them all the time.
I have no problems with gold potatoes and eat them separately from other foods.
I can have them, like many other nightshades, in moderation. If I have white potatoes one day, I shouldn't have anything else in the nightshade category for the next 3-4 days.
I react to potatoes even organic so cut them out NO potato chips, no fries, not mashed, boiled or baked...! I replaced them with yams (kumara) carrot, parsnip and beetroot
Not good... Too much sugar
I finally tried white potato again after 8 months off of them and had no major reaction so I’m calling it a win.
I’m fine with all of the nightshades I’ve reintroduced so far... Potatoes, eggplant, tomatoes.
I eliminated them then reintroduced a few months later and I’m fine with them. At least with new potatoes. Tomatoes on the other hand....
White sweet potatoes are awesome if you can find them.
Agreed!!
Ohh thank you very much for everybody the answers.
I don’t have issues with any nightshades, potatoes included.
Sweet potatoes no problem! I also just tried One slice of Ezekiel Bread yesterday and had NO reaction at all! This is SO exciting for me!
I have absolutely no problem with sprouted grains from Ezekiel. It's the Glyposate in the grains, not the glutens!
I have so much pain with potatoes and gluten. It's crazy
The white potatoes kill me!
Dangerous
Purple potato is the best according with this guy https://nutritionfacts.org/video/anti-inflammatory-effects-of-purple-potatoes/
Thanks it is really interesting.
I LOVE white sweet potatoes with red skins. They are my fave. I just steamed a few up tonight to eat over the weekend!
Best part is sweet potatoes are not in the same family as regular potatoes!
I don't seem to have a potato problem but I don't eat them often either... Dang nightshades lol
I can have normal potatoes but I react to sweet ones. Weird I know. And I can have tomatoes and capsicum.
it just shows we are all different just made gf apple crisp with apples from our orchard with coconut ice cream! All good! İndulging!
Thank you very much your help.
I believe it’s the starch content that causes the flare. I have white now and then and do notice flares so I avoid them as much as I can .
