Bowl inflammation, ulcers, hemorrhoids, intestinal tear. I would get some labs done to know for sure
I'm thinking if it was something like that it would be just a little bit but this was coming out of me and pretty good amount.
It only happened once and I just went to the bathroom again and there wasn't any. Should I wait to go to the doctor until it happens twice?
The intestine are like getting a small little tiny cut on the head it will bleed like crazy it's probably just a hemorrhoid
But aren't hemorrhoids when your anus is swollen or something?
No it's a vein that has been torn
This is really scary!
I wouldn't go to Er but I would seek medical expertise.
Ok, I hate the ER and I have a 6 month old that I'm breastfeeding so would like to avoid it if possible.
Are you taking too many aspirin
I never take aspirin.
That happens some time to me to If it happens again get checked
I've seen a little blood on tissue before after wiping but this a lot like I was pooping blood and that has never happened.
You could have a small anal tier
What causes that? I haven't been constipated.
Bright red blood means hemorrhoids or pollup in lower colon. If it were higher in the gi tract it would be darker and or congealed. Ulcer blood looks like coffee grounds. Small intestibe blood can look like liver pieces.
That makes me feel better. Thanks.
Hemorrhoid
Make an appointment for the doctor... İ only go to them for "special occasions " lol... And this would be one... You just want to make sure its nothing serious
Ok. Shouldn't I wait until it happens again?
I would, but thats me
Could be something you ate
What, you would wait to see if it happens again before going to the doctor?
Yes
On any medications? Steroids like prednisone have done that to me.
No medications.
Epsom salt baths will help if it's a fissure which is a tear. Had before... İt looks like a lot blood but it's really not. Use to get them all the time but haven't had for years they healed on their own
If it's not hemorrhoid, then test for a gluten allergy through a blood test. Also research colitis if it continues. You should also definitely do a colonoscopy if you've never done one at some point even if you get better.
Thanks for the advice.
straining and irritation of the colon. Only need to worry if blood is dark
It was so much blood. It looked like 1/4 cup.
burst cyst or hemorroid maybe then
Ok, thanks.
Light red roids, dark red danger
Mine was internal hemorrhoids. I stopped dairy and they are gone. No cheese or any other dairy.
Hi deborah,
I am not trying to frighten you but unless someone here is a colorectal surgeon who has run your labs and examined you they really cannot say what is happening and what your differential diagnosis could be.
And no DC/ND/DO/MD etc would attempt to do that via FB.
When it comes to this it is better to be safe (that is just my experience talking).
It very well could be nothing at all but I would rather you think I'm an annoying idiot than you fall and hit your head later.
Get a quick blood count and check just to be safe and follow above ideas that seem logical to you
Thank you! Not annoying at all.
Just be careful. At the minimum hydrate. Your hydration/blood volume demands are different nursing too.
I drink a ton of water so not worried about hydration.
deborah, I had it happen to me last week. (No diarrhea)But I was squeezing it out too hard. Went to the store and got the Preparation H suppositories. No more pain. But bloody added to stools stayed for 7 days.
Is your stool dark brown or black? That'd mean it's further up in gi tract. But bright blood in stool would be lower gi tract/ or rectum. I'd get a doctor's opinion.
Stool was a regular brown color. It wasn't dark at all.
Then I'd say you're having issues in lower gi tract. Witch hazel for any discomfort til you see a doctor.
It doesn't hurt at all.
That's good. Maybe you have a tear somewhere. In time it will heal. Good luck
Thanks!
If it happens again, go to the doctor. I had similar issues and had ulcerative colitis. Someone else I spoke with had the same problem, but hers was internal hemorrhoids.
Yeah, I was going to.
Ladies, she said "bright red" not "dark red" as from hemorrhoids. Different color (actually shade) is from different sources. Might be internal bleeding = from "never mind" to "Warning, life threat".
Colonoscopy ASAP
