I have Type 2 Diabetes basically as long as I can remember. I now have Neuropathy everywhere. I am at the maximum dosage for Gabapentin and Capaicin cream. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am unable to work (Counselor) until I get my health better and to young (52) to get social security. TIA!

Hi Shawna! I just saw your comment about type 2... Have you heard about chromium in the treatment of diabetes? It’s amazing... İt’s been able to help a number of type 2’s reverse it. Let me know if you want me to send you any journal articles
Sophie Galloway I would love some literature on this. As you can tell I am desperately seeking help with this. I do not want to start taking pain medications that cause addiction. Thank you so much for your response.
Shawnna Parker here’s one: http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.553.1552
More than happy to send more tomorrow it’s just late here in Australia.
Thank you so much!
I take it along with my Cinnamon
what symptomes do you have?
Nephropathy in legs and arms, retinal nephropathy, kidney stones and slow kidney function. Taking 2 types of injection insulin and still not controlled. My A1C is 10 and my Doctor wants it down to 6.5 which I am very doubtful that I can get that low. Basically, I have 3 grandbabies and I hurt so bad I cannot play with them like I would want.
My dads numbers were high and he started taking coconut oil and it lowered his numbers. Slowly and naturally. Also look into an herb called butchers broom. It helped him with his neuropathy in his feet and legs. Both were safe to take with all his prescriptions
Shawnna Parker I am where you are, Diagnosed 14 yrs ago after a long high dose of Steriods. I recently went off my 9 meds for diabetes 3 were insulin. I got sick but recovered and now I am doing this the right way and trying very hard. I am better and my neuropathy is better too. I take Cinnamon and think this page would agree. I am trying hard to go no red meat or pork, no processed carbs, no processed sugars, no dairy I sub coconut milk yogurt and just don't eat cheese. Easy on fruits. Cook with coconut oil for high heat and use olive oil for salads with lemon. I use Ezeikiel bread only (sprouted grain). Weight is slow to come off b/c I'm not active enough yet and still healing from so many things right now. I truly believe trying to treat this thing at the source instead of treating the symptoms. Best of luck to you and feel free to friend me and we can be support for eachother! Hugs
Janie Johns bravo for you!!
Janie Johns keep up the good work. Getting off the SAD diet can make a huge difference. Going Gluten Free using nuts and beans for flour staying away from white flour and sugar. Nut and bean flours are so much more filling. And the balance your sugar out. Processed package food will be the death of many people. That's why dibeties is on the rise. That food is devoid of good neutrition.
I have tried coconut flour and didn't like it. Now I want to try almond flour, just wish it wasn't so pricey, but I'd rather pay the $12 for half a pound of almond flour than pay the medical bills and meds right? : ) I've never seen bean flour?
* I meant 3 types of injection insulin, Lantus, Nova-Log and the new 1 shot weekly insulin.
You should look into the BALi eating plan
For pain and help you wean off gabapentin use DMSO. Change your diet to all organic. Yes, it is more expensive, but you'll get to eat less, since it is expensive, but good food.
Gabapentin is pure evil, get off them asap
can you explain.... İ.started taking it a month ago for neuropathy but it's the only thing that helps.... Now if I dont take it I cannot sleep
In very short you will develop a serious and considerable dependency the side effects of which are quite hideous given that they toxify the liver and kidney and therefore the blood system. My husband has worked with very many individuals prescribed these type of drugs over a number of years and the only solution to such diagnoses was and is a natural one that involves proper diet, proper exercise to include physical exertion and natural remedies. The alternative to pharmaceuticals in these instances are Skull Cap and Valerian
Vanessa Travis I just finally got off anxiety meds.... Withdrawal sucks.... So how do I get off this without feeling as though I will die...... That's how I felt getting off clonopin
Take skull cap whilst you reduce the gabapentin
Vanessa Travis thank you... I deeply appreciate your help
Medical marihuana oil!!
U need nutrition
What is your diet like? Are you already eating “clean” or following the SAD (standard American diet)?
Alpha lipoic acid, along with a good quality Omega 3, and a good quality magnesium got rid of the pins and needles, numbness feelings to where this is not even an issue now.
May I ask what type of magnesium? Is it Citrate?
Generally, like magnesium glycinate or magnesium malate.
Alpha lipid acid, berberine ANC cinnamon. No sugar, low carbs, sprouts, microgreens
Berberine is touted to be as strong as metorrmin in effectiveness.
Just did some research on Berberine and will be adding it to my list of things to take. Although I'm not a diabetic (70 and gave up drinking soda in my 20's and eat a alkaline diet) I saw a lot of other benefits too it. Thanks
Go online to David Mendosa and the glycemic index and glycemic load for a diet. Also B vitamins are essential for neuropathy. Exercise helps but slowly build up to a full program and check your glucose before and after. I think you are acidic so drink alkaline juices and eat alkaline foods. Also keep hydrated
Watch the Magic Pill documentary
DMSO.. Research it it has helped me in seemingly impossible ways.
Good luck. I developed type 2 from side effects of pharmaceuticals that cause weight gain from messing with blood sugars. I weaned off them, lost weight very slowly, following recommended diet for diabetics and was blessed it went away.
B12 needs checked
You can’t go on SS but you might be able to get disability.
Look into Bitter Mellon
Try Chelation.... Also high lead will cause neuropathy.
CBD oil, tincture if it is legal also addTHC, both in broad spectrum. Has helped me.
There is a lot of good advice here, you might also consider Using Lemon grass Lemongrass oil or tea has been used as a detoxifier in several countries. It is known to detox the digestive tract, liver, kidneys, bladder, and pancreas. Because it works as a diuretic, consuming lemongrass oil will help you to flush harmful toxins out of your body. Keep your system clean by adding lemongrass oil to your soup or tea. Make your own lemongrass tea by infusing lemongrass leaves with boiling water or adding a few drops of essential oil to your tea. The citral and limonene content in lemongrass oil can kill or stifle the growth of bacteria and fungi. Lemongrass oil can help you to relieve pain from gas irritation in the stomach and bowels, and it can remove toxins from the body easily because it increases urination.
The anti-inflammatory properties of lemongrass oil come from the limonene that is present. Inflammation has been found to be associated with just about every health condition and it has been known to play a role in allergic diseases like asthma, arthritis, Crohn’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels and Parkinson’s disease
Consumption of lemongrass oil has shown to sustain healthy levels of triglycerides and reduce the LDL (bad) cholesterol in the body. One study found that animals with high cholesterol were given lemongrass oil extract and their numbers diminished drastically.
Thank you for sharing!
Can I just take Lemongrass eo in a capsule? Like maybe 3 drops with olive oil to top off capsule?
That is up to you I guess, 3 drops is not much. Do you not like lemon flavor? I love it in soups, stews on salads or fish and chicken or even beef. A lot of oriental cooking has lemon grass in them. Salad beef or lemon chicken soup is really good. Or as a tea with honey. I live in Florida and you can grow your own in most southern states or in a planter in your home. You could make your own oil, i'm sure there must be a recipe on line for how to or to make a tea from it or add some to your tea.
Was just thinking, you may have never used lemon grass before, so it grows to look like a green onion but very pale and woody and taller than onions. The minute you touch it, it smells of lemon. You can pull it out of the ground or buy it at the store and cut a little off the bottom and use the white stalk and a little of the green and chop it in chunks and cook it with your soups or in a roast or baked chicken for flavor or add it to veg. You are cooking, If you grow your own it would be best to have a large amount a couple of feet of it to use regularly. It also repels bugs and is good for your hair. Boil some and pour it over your hair for a final rinse.
Have you considered that the Gabapentin is causing -at least some- of the neuropathy? I was on a similar pharmaceutical for only 2 short weeks, I had no neurological issues before hand; two years later I’m still trying to heal the neuropathy in my legs. Not to mention the other horrible side effects. Praying for you!
Organic food taste better.. Worth the extra money.
