I don’t want to call it insomnia bc i do sleep. But i wake up in the night and have trouble going back to sleep. Sometimes i feel like it’s my anxiety. I have been prescribed Xanax but i don’t like it. I only take it when i have to but I’d like to find natural ways to help me better, start going back to the gym, try yoga and meditation. At night i have to take it more often to help me sleep and i don’t want to be dependent on it. Any suggestions? Oils that help? I haven’t learned enough yet i need to do more research

I have the same problem.. Melatonin works great
But i heard when you start taking melatonin, your body stops making it, therefore you need to keep taking it. Is that true?

I was prescribed it a couple months ago. I rarely take it. I feel like my anxiety it getting worse and in the past week I’ve been taking it more at bedtime.
Please look for something more natural.. I have been on Xanax for 16 years, I am tapering off it and having horrendous wd's.... And I am at the lowest dose. I was too bust running a business and put my faith into my Doctor and paying for it now.

Clean eating will help... Believe me when I tell you, this poison only makes things worse, keep taking it and you will have to updose. Also blazing benzos is another group.
Good oils for sleep are: Lavender, chamomile, neroli, clay sage and Jasmine. I use an essential oil that combine them all. Works great.
Another way to improve sleep is better gut health..

I 2nd the magnesium.
I would definitely try diffusing essential oils at night and see how you feel. Cedarwood mixed with lavender or spruce help me. Also vetiver topically. There are tons of different recipes. Let me know if I can help or give more info.
Do you take magnesium, most of us are deficient. It can cause sleep issues and can help with good sleep, natural calm is good, also take an Epsom salt bath in very warm water about 20 minutes. It will help you sleep, you will absorb magnesium and it will also eliminate toxins
Ditch the processed foods and sugars also, all the chemicals in the foods mess with the mind, sad but true, good luck

Do you fall back asleep at 5am? Are you sneezing or congested, like allergies? How about taking a warm bath with Epsom salts? The list could go on: Tart cherry juice, tapping, meditative podcasts, magnetic sleep mask. I love that you are looking for alternative solutions! Don’t forget to take care of yourself on the inside and find out what is causing you to wake up. Sometimes even the slightest bit of stress can fester inside of you.

Adrenals? If it's your adrenals, ashwaganda is great. Also magnesium oil spray on the bottom of your feet.

Adrenal cocktail
1/4 teaspoon of Himalayan pink salt
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
Mix into a glass of fresh squeezed lemon water or orange juice twice daily and drink on an empty stomach. Best times are 10am and 2pm.
Avoid doing close to bedtime as it gives an energy boost.
After a week or two of doing this add in magnesium.
Sometimes to add in magnesium too fast when your adrenals are really weak can cause more anxiety/sleeplessness and be counter productive so add slowly after a couple weeks.
PLEASE don't take the Xanax, I too was put on it 6 years ago, my new doc took me off of it cold turkey. I am having pain in all joints, I have lost so much strength, the headaches are horrible, the fact I can't remember names of my family members.... Please don't take this drug!

Magnesium deficiency
Can you tell me a good magnesium to take? I have these but i don’t like some of the ingredients
we use a couple of different supplements. First, we use a product call "Calm" which really does wonders for emotional and psychological issues, both the adult version and the kids version. We also use a product called "Magnesium Fizz-Plus" by Natures Blend, which helps clam the body the nerves and rest the mind. One of our boys was having problems getting to sleep and now not an issue. We also take a Magnesium Citrate capsule when needed. Remember this, if you are having a more then usually stressful day, even after taking a mag. Supplement your body will burn off any available magnesium, that's when the capsules come into play. You will know if you are getting too much if you start having diarrhea.

Some one mentioned melatonin. Melatonin is made to reset your sleep schedule by affecting your circadian rhythms. It is naturally produced by your body in the dark and is a stress hormone. It shouldn't be taken for longer than a couple of months (I don't think at all) as it alter the other levels of hormones your body naturally produces.
I also hate the way it makes my feel the next day.
I would recommend Valerian root tea and magnesium. I wouldn't recommend supplements. Try eating more foods containing it or boiling organic banana peels and drinking before bed. Also I think probiotics help. No idea if there is truth to it. Good luck! Oh and no phone an hour before bed!

No problem! No idea if there's truth to that but I'd be more worried about how it affects the other hormone production in your body, I think especially for women.

Insomnia has many causes- neurotransmitter imbalance, sex hormone imbalance, cortisol imbalance, liver congestion and gut bugs. You'll want to find out the root cause and address it. Tests like the oats and dutch will show you what is going on

I just started taking magnesium. And I actually slept. Reading it can be ur sugar dropping. As soon as I eat something I am able to fall back to sleep

Start eating Breakfast again........... (eggs, Oatmeal, etc. - start small if u have to!)........... along w 3 Balanced Meals w some Meat! Thn add a Basic Multi Vitamin & Magnesium. All the while gettn at least a hour of Sunshine/Daylight a day! Lastly, don't forget Spring Water in between ur Meals.
When a cow is killed it releases adrenalin which the human consumes. It makes for week adrenal glands. That will not help her sleep.
