How often do you shower / wash your hair?

Ok ive been wondering this question for awhile... How often do you shower/wash your hair?? When my kids were newborns and little i didnt bath them everyday.. They got a bath twice a week and i got crap from it from everyone saying im dirty and my kids are dirty.. Now that my daughter attends school 3 times a week i make sure to bath her when she gets home from school.

I personally take a shower every day. I just like feeling super clean even though I know it's not good for my skin or hair. My 4 and 1 year old get a bath once a week. Sometimes longer in the winter. They just get wiped off as needed in-between.

Johanna showers every day because she goes to school. Roxanna is every other day and the twins are every other day because it's super hot but when it's not hot I do every 2 days ( so monday shower and then Thurs etc)

I shower every day but wash my hair every other day

My kids and I all take a bath everyday. I don't let them get in bed dirty because then I have to change the sheets more often.

The baby and I get a shower about 3 times a week.

Washing with soaps everyday stops the production of vitD. Essential for immune system. Wash your privates. Yes. The rest wash with a splash of water only. Vit D from the sunshine needs time to be totally taken by our bodies about 48 hours. Yup. That long. So all of you that wash every 3rd day are full of vit D.

Monika Cornett
M

I have low Vitamin D and i dont bath everyday lol

Antonietta Schultz 3 years

Need moe time in sunshine. Early morning sun when it rises up is best

Monika Cornett 3 years

Yupp! I try but it gets way too hot where im at to even step outside haha

Antonietta Schultz 3 years

Or check yourself for toxicity. Hair test. It might block vit d.

Monika Cornett 3 years

If u use sunscreen u can not develope vit d

I hate bathing you are not alone. Its a waste of my time

Lisa Saenz 3 years

Yay!!! total waste of time lol

Antonietta Schultz 3 years

I hate it too! By the end of summer I've neglected my legs and hate going outside because if I sweat it means I'll need to shower

Alyssa Camp 3 years

My kids bathe everyday. They are in school and sports. I only bathe like 3 times a week.

I take a shower every other day. I wash my hair once a month. My kids (8,2,1) get one bath every one to two weeks.

Kasaundra Knutson
K

How long did it take you to get to a month? I got to a week and a half but that took a few months.

Mariah Montes 3 years

Oh my hair???

Kasaundra Knutson 3 years

I've always done once a month. Black people normally don't wash often. Our hair is already dry and washing it doesn't help.

Kasaundra Knutson 3 years

Oh. Okay. Up until about.... 6 months ago I was washing mine every 2 to 4 days. If I didn't it'd be so greasy. It's taken me 4 to 5 months to make it to a week and a half, and I love it. Once a month would be phenomenal.

Mariah Montes 3 years

I wash mine like once a week. Mine gets really greasy if i dont. But props to those that can go a month without washing it.

Water is a universal solvent. I bathe with my 6 month old daily, but just water and Epsom salt.

Diana Chang

Depends on what I am doing right now I work at a super hot bakery and the AC is broken so every day or every other day I try for every 3 days but shower in between if I feel gross I try not to wash my hair more than twice a week

Rosie Diggs
R

I shower 2-3 times a week and only wash my hair 1-2 times a week depending on how greasy it gets. I only wash my child as needed or same as me.

Jessica Fernandez
J

I shower every other day roughly. I bathe my daughter 4 times a week, and my boys get a bath every other day just because they're boys

Tashan Dugan
T

My kids bathe every other day during the week and none on weekends, unless playing outside where it would require a quick rinse. I personally take a shower every day with just water and wash my hair everyday. I use natural soaps every other day or so.

Kathleen Bishop

Myself and my teens shower daily. Baby (6 mths) gets a bath every two days or three days if possible. As a newborn one bath a week was enough.

Dawn Whitley

I shower once a day if I stay home and twice a day if I got out. I wash my hair once a week. I bathe my baby two-three times a week.

Astrid Gibbs

How do you mamas find time to shower everyday?? Ill be lucky to get 3 showers in a week hahaha

Antonietta Schultz
A

I get up at 5:30 - 6 am and jump in the shower before anyone else wakes in the house. If i don't go in then i would struggle to find the time.

Dawn Whitley 3 years

Wow i cant do that at all.. İ rather sleep in. I hate getting up early lol

Antonietta Schultz 3 years

I love mornings. I seem to get so much done. Evenings i am tired and am always asleep by 10-10:30 depending how baby slept the night before.

Dawn Whitley 3 years

Think my name suits me haha

If I was working out of home I would shower everyday before work

It's my time to decompress. I need it to relax. I showered about every other day once my mother and mil left, 6 weeks after LO was born, but now I'm back to daily.

My younger kids like to play in the bathtub a few times a week. But I only use shampoo on them maybe twice a month, and soap their bodies if they get really gross. Otherwise I just let them play in the water.

Erin Tate

I bathe and wash my hair 2-3 times a week.

Growing up we did not have good water so i bathed at my cousins twice a week. Even in school. When i hit 18 got a job and my own place i showered two to three times a day. Its been 15 years now since i moved out and i shower daily. Sometimes i skip a fay if i am exhausted lol.

Michelle Mckinney

I shower/wash hair daily. I don't skip. Kids get a shower every night or every other night depending on the day, but normally daily.

My kids are 8 and 9 and they get a shower every other day, or every other other day. LOL.

sponge baths are sufficient between bathing. Which less is better. Our bodies are equipped with bacteria that should not be wash off daily as it is there to prtect us from getting sick

Yes

Daily.

Nancy Bates

My older kids, 4 and 8, every 2-3 days but they get nasty from sweat and dirt outside.
My little is 1 and maybe once a week. She gets filthy from knocking over the cats water and scooting everywhere but it's just dust.
All kids get hair washed a couple times a month. Maybe 2xs?

I shower every 2 days.

We don't need more unless we stink. It's bad for our hair and skin.

Ange Weber
A

My 2 year old gets a bath 1-3 times a week. If she's dirty or pees the bed she gets a bath.
I usually shower 2 or 3 times a week. Wash my hair every week or week and a half. Our hair and skin are so much healthier now that we don't shower so often.

Mariah Montes

Nice

Antonietta Schultz 3 years

Like 2x a week usually. Unless he gets super dirty. Or if he's been at mil house he usually smells like an old dog when he comes home from there

Angela Dodson

When I worked, I showered every day. Now that I don't, I shower every 2-3 days and wash my hair every two showers.

Rebecca Hammer
R

I used to every day. Now it is every 3-4 days. My kids every 4-5 days. I use all natural shampoo every other shower and chemical mainstream shampoo every other shower. I'd like to get all the way away from it but I still feel like it's better than the every single day use I used to do

Amy Koenig

I think we are pretty clean lol

Amy Koenig

I shower once a week. My kids are 9 and almost 7 and they shower as needed. Sometimes every couple days sometime (winter months) a week to two weeks.

Amanda Baker

Two weeks??? That's nuts!!

Becky Bishop

No one smells. No greasy hair. Its more of an as needed basis. Washcloths work for dirty feet and legs.

Amanda Baker 3 years

All of us have always bathed everyday since they were born... As they got older & into sports (by the age of 4) it was sometimes 2x a day hair included each time...

Madeline Farrell
M

I bathed my daughter every day or every other day. Just using a wash cloth to wipe her "areas" with. No soap or bubble bath. Now and again I used a mild shampoo. She never ever had sour smelling hair. When she turned 2 I started to use a conditioner but still only used shampoo every 2 weeks. Again I went on the way her hair/ scalp smelled and if she appeared to be oily. Not once has she appeared oily, but if she had been outside playing and sweating all day she got a nice wash.

Sara Scott
S

Me personally... That is a different story. I have some sort of hormone issue and my hair has become more and more greasy/ smelly over the past 2 yrs. I can shampoo and condition the ends and it is greasy and funky by the end of the day. I really hate being able to smell the odor coming from my hair.

Sara Scott
S

I shower and wash my hair every morning, I take a bath every night before bed. When the kids we little it was a bath every night wash hair every second day.

My 5yr old son, is bathed about every other day now I sometimes daily if he's extra dirty. But when he was under a year old, he got bathed maybe twice a week, usually only once a week bc he has eczema and to much bathing dries him out sooo bad. That's for my baby, my showers are different. Mommy sweats, and oddly enough I LoVe my daily CoLD shower. LoL. I only wash my hair once maybe twice a week, bc more makes it extra dry n frizzy. But I take my daily cool off n cleanse bc I do sweat a lot n have issues with acne, so I have to stay on top of managing the acne.

Rikki Cormier
R

I think everyone's different tho, my Mother In Law is adamant about babies, kids, adults of all ages showering, hair washing, fingernail scrubbing every single day no matter what. But what works for us is different, like I said above. It's bothered her from the start n has been an issue with her being fussy with me about it. Saying my son doesn't get cleaned enough, yadayada.... But we must be doing something right bc at 5yrs old, unvaxxed, he's never been on antibiotics for any reason, never any type of ear infection or anything like that, n never caught a single virus or "sickness" that we know of, so my dirty little youngin is healthy n that's what matters. LoL. Sorry, I always feel like I have to justify our schedule.

Rikki Cormier

My whole deal is my kid doesnt stink yet like shes not in stinky puberty sweat.. Shes 7 i bathe her every two days. Sometimes depending on the week everynight but mostly every two days... My youngest on the other hand sweats like theres no tomorrow.. So she gets a bath everyday
