By gaining the ability to see your thoughts

A question, if I may..
Do you, peter, require of the Creator to show Himself to each and every one of the 100s of billions of humans ever lived here on earth, to prove His existence, or would it be enough of He showed Himself once, at a public event?

The simplest analogy is the way in which colonies of ants or bees function. Each insect in the colony follows the "rules" of the colony instinctively, performing its task according its type - general worker, soldier etc. We are born without knowledge of gods in any way. We are brainwashed into a religion as a function of our geographical place of birth. The "God" we know is what had been taught. So to answer you - if your god wanted me to belief in him he should have programmed me from birth. My choice was to reject the idea of a god since it is abundantly clear that the whole lot of them are man made poppycock.

Peter Cole Brainwashed into a religion? I don't know where you are from, but I'm from Sweden, maybe the most atheistic country in the world. We were brainwashed to become atheists..

Tom Lim 3 years

A small minority does opt for theism by themselves but even in Sweden you can be taught by your parents and attend groups for indoctrination purposes.

Soi Norris 3 years

Exactly. My atheist parents taught me atheism. And they force-fed us atheism in groups they called school, for indoctrination purposes.

Every sane and honest person will sooner or later come to the conclusion that this world has to have been created.. İt cannot have become by itself..

Do you presume there are several Gods? But, may I ask, what do you mean by the word god?

John Hahn

At present, around 24 major gods are favored by man with some minor deities in the background. Historically there have been many more but they fell by the wayside over time.

Peter Cole 3 years

A god is a deity that is thought to have supernatural powers and is worshiped though prayer, rituals, non-consumption of certain foods, fasting and often by reading and adherence to requirements for worship as depicted in a holy book according to traditions and custom handed over from generation to generation.

Peter Cole 3 years

When you say that god is a deity, then naturally the next question is: What is deity?

John Hahn 3 years

Something said to have supernatural powers. Usually the deity is given anthropomorphical attributes - human-like qualities.

Peter Cole 3 years

Gods/deities belong to the unknown realm. No facts are available. Then the questions we need to ask are these: Why do we believe and imagine gods/deities in the various ways that we do? Why do some of us argue there are no gods?

This is as many God or Gods as each person thinks of it in their minds.
