Yes, I am looking for a probiotic now.. Did use "L Glutemine" (orderered online from CVS) to heal gut.. Have been trying all these different diets we see on here and other sites. No Gluten or Sugar, 99% no meat or dairy. Looking at Paddison - I don't have a juicer yet. I ran out of my acid reflux medecine 2 weeks ago and have not had any problems. Other changes for me also. (Positive - bathroom issues ) SO maybe I am experiencing gut healing, still going to continue working on it. Haven't used my walker in 4 weeks. Only on prednisone. Hopefully I can decrease and end that too. What about "Culturelle" There is a coupon for it in todays paper.

I am a really BAD German girl! I don't like saurkraut! LOL Going to have to try and train myself to eat that.

Ginny Cordova 3 years

Ginny Cordova you only need to eat a little like a table spoon to get the good out of it

Do pickles count? I really don't like fermented foods. I just bought Khumbucha (so) yesterday and didn't like it at all. I am very sensitive to alcohol, so it made my stomach hurt immediately.

A refrigerated probiotic is definitely the best.. My wellness doc put me on Klaire Labs Ther-Biotic Complete.. It is pricey but really good ..

From ?

Susan Head

they are sold in grocery stores, pharmacies, gnc, amazon. They're a supplement and are with the vitamins or with the stomach meds, depending on how your store is setup. Like others have mentioned, the refrigerated versions are better.

Probiotics are the live, good bacteria our Gut and small intestine needs. It's in good farm fresh yogurt. Buy them in Capsules or powder form. I always get mine from Natures Sunshine. A good probiotic will have to be refrigerated.

You can get it over the counter at pharmacies.

Sorry if it sounds silly, but what is a leaky gut? New to all this!

Susy Lindsay

Leaky gut involves the loss of integrity within the small intestines and may play an important role in health and disease. Researchers postulate leaky gut occurs via Zonulins acting on specific surface receptors on the enterocytes. In fact, human zonulin is the only physiological mediator discovered to date that is known to regulate intestinal permeability. Zonulin release can be triggered via gliadin and particular dysbiotic bacteria contacting the enterocytes. Other factors that may cause leaky gut include, dysbiosis, sugar, saturated fats, alcohol, strenuous exercise, inflammation, Glyphosate and medications such as NSAIDs and antibiotics.

Thank you

Brad Naquin, you sounds very well informed on this topic. Is it accurate in your opinion that probiotics such as the plexus probio 5 is a solution to this leaky gut? Or is this too some sort of "bandaid" should this be taken with other supplements or alone?

Jenny Doty 3 years

Jenny Doty plexus probio 5 Only contains 2 billion bacteri ( 2 billion bacterium may sound like a lot but when that's compare to over 150 trillion found in your gut then not really). Probiotics are needed however diet needs to be right, the body also needs the right proteins and zinc. The list goes on.

Brad Naquin 3 years

Totally believe it.

Leaky gut in a nut shell certain foods you eat leak through your intestine / gut into the blood stream which then triggers immune disorders. Is what I get from the info I hear.

I am newly diagnosed however had issues for a while, last year after breaking my collar bones the day after xmas, I was strapped down pretty good, unable to go to the pool I went online to kill time and found the Dr. Oz Day Off Diet... Thought well I can't do anything else so I might as well try it.. Not only did I lose 35 pounds, I felt soo much better eating this way, it is not a diet, but a healthier way to eat.. A lot of my swelling, bloating went away, digestion was better able to cut back on most all pills etc.. I am not trying to push this diet, and I haven't checked yet but from what I've seen here it is similar or close to a good way to eat for RA.. I plan to follow it as close to possible for now til I do more research on the ones rec'd here. I also added NOW probiotics and have already seen a diff...
