I need home remedies for a killer migraine please! Going on day 3 . I breastfeed, so I need something safe for that.
Are you well hydrated? I would try cococnut water, iron and magnisium. How old is your baby?
4 months. I may not be as hydrated as I need to be. I try to take an iron supplement every day because I'm very anemic.
I was anemic while being pregnant,, it sucks:( I also took vitamin D as well as iron and ate a lot of fruit. I too got migraines, and when they were horrible I would take half of an excedrin.. I know it wasn't great to but they were unbearable:/
Do you drink caffeine? Some people drink caffeine and when they miss a day or 2 will get a horrible headache. Maybe since your bf. You need more iron. Tumeric and danielle mentioned. Mayne a tablespoon of raw honey. Lots more fluid. I hope your better soon. I've had them. I can't imagine dealing with one bf and taking care of the baby. Keep us posted.
Eat a couple Brazil nuts daily. They are a great source of magnesium, Calcium and iron. Plus it is loaded with selenium. You may also want to eat a few almonds daily. Almonds are loaded with b2/Riboflavin which will help prevent or shorten migraines.
I use to eat a lot to help milk supply but I haven't in a month or two
absolutely magnesium, coconut water, fresh clean water. Feverfew is my godsend
Feverfew in pill form?
I take it in a capsule, I think the company is called Nature's Way. Depending how bad i feel, 2-3 caps first dose. If 20-30min later i don't feel better i take another. That usually does it
Thank you! And it's safe for breastfeeding? I can research if you aren't aure
It's a vasodilator and specifically helps with migraine, headache, jaw tension, neck tension
Yes its fine.
Have you tried peppermint oil on your neck & forehead & temples?
I haven't. I know peppermint dries up milk, but I don't know bout oil.
My eyes got big when I read peppermint. I felt like I was in a cartoon. Too bad it can dry our supply. I guess it's good if our LOs decide to wean cold turkey.
Ha true lol.
Frankincense on the roof of your mouth drink plenty of water too
Have your B12 count checked
I haven't. I take b12 for energy. Possible I'm taking too much?
I take it for Crohn's disease. I read that lack of can result in migraines. I take shots.
I've never taken b12 regularly. Migraines are a regular in my family, but I haven't had one like this is so long
I used to have them a lot. I'm also a huge advocate for accupressure.
I've never tried that. I use to have to go to a sports therapist and he would have to pop vertebrae in my neck to make them go away, but that was when 10 years ago
Try an oil pull
Put ice on the back of your neck. Take Epsom salts baths three times a week - one cup of Epsom salts, a tub full of water, and get as much of yourself as you can into the water to soak for twenty minutes, but right now, put ice on the back of your neck. It's even better if you mist a bath towel with water, put it in the freezer for ten minutes, and wrap it around your head to hold a bag of peas or a sports ice ice pack on the back of your neck. Should be gone in fifteen minutes or less - at which point get yourself into the tub... With Epsom salts.
Thank you! I'll try that when I get home.
Jessica Lowery Poor girl! Hang in there!
Lol thank you. I'm bout ready to make my husband give me a mommy day of nothing but sleep lol
I chalked it up to lack of sleep because my 1.5 year old has been rowdy and my 4 month hasn't slept much at all lately. I'll try all that. I'm bout to straight up kill over lol. I'm bout to pluck my eyeball out haha. I'm not much of a caffeine drinker but I tried it anyway just to test it and i still have it. I've been taking naproxen. I'm not all sure what's safe to take and not affect my baby.
Sleep can play a big part. When I was in college, working full time and had a boyfriend, I was getting them weekly. After college, they went away on their own. Stress also factored in.
Ginger helped me.
Blackstrap molassas and greens for iron magnesium pink salt, lemon and water ina shot glass Remember headaches mostly stem from dehydration. Magnesium is seriously the best
Chiropractic and all of these listed above.
himalayan salt in water
FB search or google search lemon juice, baking soda migraine relief
Thank y'all so much!
Ginger did the trick for me, and I have BAD ones, and I BF!
I will certainly try that! Thank you :):)
I add it to my soup, or add it to my juice! I haven't had one since I started juicing again.
You can get concentrated Turmeric tablets with pepper. That works. Juice some ginger and celery juice and add to anything you like. If you are willing to go big pharma - Good old 100mg of Diclofenac will do the trick. I would however go see a chiropractor if you can afford one.
Daith piercing. My best friend got one and it's worked wonders
I just read about that
this is what my husband takes
That I could do
Hubby says it taste good, I wouldn't know cause im allergic to pineapples lol
Well I recently found out that I like celery ha. I've hated it for years lol
hymalayan salt water
Magnesium and or pineapple juice. Also a handful of almonds helps
Thank y'all so much! I'll be definitely going to Walmart and coming back looking like in starting an herb and vitamin store lol.
Don't do too much all at once. You won't know what made it better or made you sicker ...
Lol I'm not. I'll try one thing at a time. Day 4 of migraine. Day 3 of my 4 month old not sleeping well and day 2 of getting kicked by a toddler ha.
Ok this isn't something you have in your home but there are some supplements that are helping people with migraines. They help with balancing sugar and other body stresses. So if you have them often this could be good for you. We take them for other health reasons but they did get rid of the headaches I was having but I don't have migraines just we having regular headaches.
What are they?
Jessica Lowery I didn't have the option to message you so I sent you a friend request.
Well I bought some ginger and magnesium, took both and the migraine is a thing in my past. Thank you guys soooo much for the help
