Heat or cold for inflammation?
Chiropractor always told me heat feels good but causes more inflammation and said to use ice pack.
It depends, I do better with heat. Cold is no bueno for me.
Cold for inflammation. Heat for healing. That’s why you alternate with injuries.
I use ice packs at night when pain is bad.
Cold for me, I have to ice everytime I go outside right now. 100 degree weather is not my friend.
Cold( ice pak)
Depends on what feels better for you
Depends on the person. I use heat always because my muscles get involved.
I use hot with Epsom Salt on my hands, & feet, feels so good & relaxing
Cold for the inflammation and heat for the pain that works for me.
It really depends on where my hands ankles like cold. My knees and hips and shoulders react much better to heat.
It's for my knee. I'm going to use a heating pad. I'll see how it goes and make a post after a few days
Elissa Parks My knees are a problem as well. Heat is nice, but sometimes I need to alternate the ice and heat.
What if your hands are swollen but you have Raynouds Disease is it OK to use the ice still? I was just diagnosed with RA and Raynouds officially last week
My husband and both of our daughters have Raynouds. I would highly recommend only using heat on your hands and feet. Ice and cold is awful for my family.
Doctors/OT, told me heat for RA
Cold never heat for inflammation
I use both. But love heat.
I use cold.
Whatever feels good. I've found different parts of my body respond differently to both. Some parts freak out with cold while it seems to calm others. Another fun throw anything at it and see what sticks game in ra land.
Both, I am using CBD oil on some of my areas that hurt the most
For me cold
Ice blocks in a bag n a bandage ... Works great for my flares which are ice melting hot... Cool every time
Depends on the joint and the day. Knees and wrist and ankles, usually ice. But... Right now I have a heating pad on my hip trying to get some relief and maybe, just maybe, get some sleep.
Agree depending on joint
Ice packs when joints are hot and hot packs when joints are cold
Can try hot castor oil packs... Hot Epsom salt baths and packs.. Detoxing colonics enemas etc
