Chiropractor always told me heat feels good but causes more inflammation and said to use ice pack.

It depends, I do better with heat. Cold is no bueno for me.

Cold for inflammation. Heat for healing. That’s why you alternate with injuries.

It really depends on where my hands ankles like cold. My knees and hips and shoulders react much better to heat.

Elissa Parks My knees are a problem as well. Heat is nice, but sometimes I need to alternate the ice and heat.

What if your hands are swollen but you have Raynouds Disease is it OK to use the ice still? I was just diagnosed with RA and Raynouds officially last week

My husband and both of our daughters have Raynouds. I would highly recommend only using heat on your hands and feet. Ice and cold is awful for my family.

Whatever feels good. I've found different parts of my body respond differently to both. Some parts freak out with cold while it seems to calm others. Another fun throw anything at it and see what sticks game in ra land.

Depends on the joint and the day. Knees and wrist and ankles, usually ice. But... Right now I have a heating pad on my hip trying to get some relief and maybe, just maybe, get some sleep.
