Who else does his own probiotics? Fermented apples! The taste is good and the benefits is superb.
Can you post the recipe please? Interested in trying.
Me too! I do beet kvass which is fermented beets. I would love to try apples! Recipe please!
Following for recipes
I normally use green apples because i love the taste. You can use any apples of your choice. ● Wash peel and cut apples in to cubes( I use 4 apples when using a 2 litre mason jar) ● Put the cubed apples in to a mason jar, add 2 tablespoons of raw honey or a pinch of sea salt and fill up the jar with water( purified water) leaving 2 inches and cover tighlty with lid. ● keep in dark place for 3 days and shake it occasionally to remove gas. ● After 3 days, transfer the liquid and refrigrate and throw away the apples. I CONSUME A SHOT WHEN EATING FOOD. I use the same recipe for beets, carrots or peer. But apples are my best.
Very cool... Thanks for sharing... Never had fermented apples... Or the juice I should say

shafa'atu thank you for the link. How much do you drink daily? Would taking a probiotic capsule as well be too much daily?
Could I do it without the honey? Or is there any vegan substitute?
Yes you can. It only makes it taste sweet. Sea salt is another alternative.

Isn't three days to short for a proper ferment? Or is that to prevent making ACV instead?
I have done AVC without success, the information says 7 weeks, and i ended using the ferment for cleaning surfaces. Pls if you have done acv with success ahare with me. 3 days is the least depending on your weather but you can leave it for 5 days too.
With ACV its best to use a cheesecloth so air can escape and the apples have to be weighted down under the water. When mine haven't been then I got mold
Shafa'atu Abdulmumini, Is this ok to take while tapering from a benzo? Any interactions with meds? I stopped chemo and stopping other meds, just making sure it can be consumed safely.
It is very good after finishing your chemo and other drugs because the drugs have tempered with your gut health- destroying all the good bacteria that helps with digestion and absorption of nutrients. Are thinking of a detox? You need it Lemon juice in water early morning will help you detox faster. Am sending more healing to you. 1
Shafa'atu Abdulmumini Thank you so much, Blessed be
Another thing, i am not an Expert in this field but i am doing so much research about fermented food. What i say might not be right, its what i read. Thanks
Nice! I make them regularly with variety of veggies like cabbage, carrots, beets, ginger, garlic etc.
Thanks how do you drink the water, is it first thing in the morning and last thing you go to bed?
Generally first thing in the morning
I enjoy the veggies with meals as side dish
Thanks for sharing. Do you mind giving us the recipe pls
Sure! I use some leftover liquid from previous batch or the clear liquid from yogurt to quicken the process of fermenting. In a clean mason jar put about 1/5 jar of starter liquid, 1tsp pink/rock/sea salt and purified water to make it 1/2 full. Now add some chopped veggies pressing gently in-between with a spoon. You may add more veggies until water rises to 3/4 of the jar with tightly pressed veggies. Leave it on your kitchen counter for 3-5 days depending upon weather conditions. Also, open the jar once everyday and press all the veggies down with a spoon. Once done, you may refrigerate them. I like to add some ginger or garlic or cumin to different jars for variety of taste. Hope you make some and enjoy!!
Please share the recipe for apples... I’ll try it as well
I️ am all about fermenting!! I️ teach online fermentation classes too.
Good. We have expert here. So how do u make fermented apples? And how and what quantity do u advise people to take
Yummy! I make my own water kefir!
Coconut water keffir?
You can use coconut water, or you can use plain water plus any fruit. I use the water kefir grains from cultures for health.
What a great idea!!
So scared to ferment and die cuz idk wtf im doing.... Do i have to boil the jar first and use gloves and not touch shit??? Feel like there is some secret thing people do here but think its so common knowledge they dont bother putting it in the recipe...
The ferment needs the bacteria from your hands to quicken the process. You will not die from that, instead you will be more healthy from fermented foods
Your getting too scientific, lisa. People have been fermenting foods for over 1,000 years. The old recipes for sauerkraut call for stomping it with your feet. Just keep the food bellow the water level and get some fermented food going. It won't help you if you don't eat it.
Thanks for sharing!
Trying this! Made sauerkraut once... Didn't trust myself with the process but now that I have done some research I will be trying again. Thanks for the info, I didn't know this could be done with carrots and beets also
Try the FB page "fermenters kitchen". Jamie, try fermented carrots with a little ginger in the ferment. Delicious.
I've got do this asap
Did not know. Will try
