A food question. I've given up wheat and bread in an attempt to avoid gluten. But I'd love to eat some form of bread. I've researched and wonder if really good sourdough bread is the answer. Anybody else found that it doesn't cause inflammation. I'm fantasising about avocado on toast
Avocado on toast is my fav! Yummy! But bread hates me.
Schar bread is yummy and gf. But still a processed food.
You can find it in the gf section at walmart. Not with the regular breads
I'm in Australia. No Walmart.
Woolworths have Homebrand gluten free bread in white and grain
There's great gluten free bread at Coles and woollies. It's not the soft squishy fresh bread you probably dream of but it's great for toast! Also you can find recipes for making your own at home and that's much fluffier and nicer fresh!
Cup for cup is the best gluten free flour, try making your own bread. You can order it on amazon!
i made sourdough too... Nd i make koullori or crackers frm sourdough
Ezekiel Sprouted Grains brown rice bread. Not the same but toasted with something on it will be better than no bread at all.
That's what I use also
I don't do well with any bread
It's made with brown rice flour. So if you can eat brown rice you can eat this bread.
Thanks. I can get Ezekiel bread here. Will give it a go
I'm also in Australia 'Karen xx where can we get this bread from xx
Hi donna. At your health food store. It's in the fridge
From Australia also... Great info!
I like namaste gluten free flour blend. I make my own bread or if I'm feeling rich I'll buy ottos cassava flour and make bread
I love bread too so I found a brown rice bread that's gluten-free and when toasted it has the texture of a toasted sourdough bread it's tastes yummy.
Where do you find it?
Try UDI's gluten free bread.
I should clarify- it is a brand and they make sliced breads, Hamburg rolls and you can even find rolls and Baguette.
There is Paleo bread also. Which I have bought although I don't feel I need it now.
Where do you buy it?
Molly Ramey bought it at my local farmers market
I was hoping sourdough would be an option but unfortunately I react to it
Buckwheat flour water salt baking powder. Mix and bake at oven
Gluten free bread
Sourdough bread is terrible for RA. Rice cakes or bread made with anything but wheat. But then our bodies are all different. Paleo.
Sourdough bread that has taken 3 days to rise will break down the gluten. But if you are sensitive to histamine, (i. E.: Do you have allergies?) then sourdough bread is not good as it is high in histamine. All the fermented foods, including Yogurt and Kefir, are high in histamines and I have to avoid them.
Wow! I never knew this so I looked it up- I read an article that says as long as it's TRUE sourdough- if it says yeast on the ingredients- it is not. Should use lactobacilli which breaks down the gluten. I'd still worry about cross contamination- like flour used to roll it, in the pan, etc
Interesting I've been getting into my fermented foods and had a few flares, might be histamine! Have to go back to the food diary!
Sprouted Grains bread, raw butter (forgot the name )and a cup of coffee with organic coconut sugar.
I love burgen gluten free seeded bread yummy
Look up "Keto bread recipe". All Keto stuff is gluten and grain free and is anti inflammatory. It's kinda "eggy" but if you toast it, it's not noticeable. Goes great with avocado.
I do eat the occasional piece of toast and I always by sourdough for the bread eaters in my house. I read an article that it is easier to digest.
