lay down flat, put your hands along your sides, suck in your stomach as hard as you can, bent your knees (bringing your feet half way near your but flat) and lift your but of for about 10 seconds, repeat from 3 to 5/6 times first thing in the morning. Works for me, it realigns the spine. Keep it simple.
Do you drink coffee? It is a muscle inflammatory. Once I quit drinking coffee, most of my aches and pains went away. When I drink the occasional at breakfast, by evening, I feel the twinges.
I am right there with you.... Been working on this for 3 months.. Started as a pinched nerve lower back caused trigger thumb and Knee pain right side.. Rest, exercise -movement and muscle relaxers the nerve is slowing getting some release.. My joints feel bone to bone.. ( used my whole Arsen of homeopathic stuff MSM, bromine tabs (broke out in a rash) Boswella.. Hit the heavier stuff Motrin started Doans pill tonight (took them 30 years ago then again 10 years ago)... İt has taken me 3 months to get to this point... My back is clicking and bending and movable ..
Medication wise, Klonopin and Valium work wonders for back and neck muscular issues. If that isn't an option for you, I've had good luck with Lidocaine patches and cream, hot packs and hot baths in Epsom salt.
Yoga. Lifting weights (perfect form and don't put weight on your shoulders). There is a yoga pose that helped me a lot. You put your butt against a wall, legs up and just laid that way for as long as you can every day. Another one is to hang using one of those abs straps and let your weight pull you down. Add weights little by little to help pull down... Or use an inversion table as suggested above. I put turmeric in my breakfast. You can try a turmeric patch right where the pain is and it will help reducing it enough to take the edge off. Best luck!
What is not advisable? I wrote those comments based on my own personal experience. I have been in pain since I was 13 years old. Now I am not. Pain free for three months after trying and doing all of the above. I did say perfect forms and adding weights little by little.
Chronic back pain from ruptured L-5 surgery in 1985, nerve damage, feet are numb/pain in feet and lower back. I have taken pain meds only occasionally through the years. 3 years ago I just got so sick of the pain I went on vicodin and all was good (not abusing) for 2 years until my Dr joined a large group, they kicked him out and told me "we don't do business that way". So I took nothing for 9 months and was back to just enduring the pain. Then I learned about Kratom a tree leaf from southeast Asia and Malaysia. I have taken Kratom for 2 months. About 2 weeks in I took too much as well as too much of a spice that I know restricts my ability to pee. Long story short I went to emergency room and had to have a catheter put in to release the urine before I could explode because I couldn't pee. I waited a week and went back on Kratom reduced the dose through experimentation found the right dose and eliminated the spice. So my pain is being managed and I think the catheter actually helped because I haven't peed this good since I was in my 30s. 62 now. So glad I found this stuff. Not legal in all states.

Not advisable, unless under very close supervision by maybe a physical therapist. Gentle stretches, very gentle yoga may help. Best is a Chiropractor.
