Does anyone have itchy skin because of rheumatoid arthritis?

Hoping someone here can help out. Does anyone gave itchy skin *because of* RA? Is that a thing? It started itching right at my thumb joints, now the back of my hands, sometimes other areas. I don't have any rashes or dry patches, and ive never been diagnosed (or had reason to be) for psoriasis. So I'd like to know if this could be related or not!
Disclaimer: I live in NC where it isnt very cold, especially the past few days so its not wintery dry skin.

Because of itches I have woken up in the middle of night. Of late a mild massage of warm coconut oil in evening helps me. You can try with olive oil as well. While making the oil warm, ensure that you don't put in direct flame, but placed in a pan of hot water. Indirect warming. May you get relieved of itches. Prayers

I have RA, lupus, and sjogrens syndrome. Itching usually on my arms and legs. I use a anti itch cream because lotion and oils don't help. Feels like bee stings.

I'm not wheat free. And you mentioned your head... İ wonder if this is part of having a dry scalp? I swear im always itching and its not a bunch of dandruff... İts just itchy! I feel gross

Shannon Boyle 3 years

No, I even had my hairdresser take a really good look - nothing to cause the constant itchiness. I do suspect wheat though and haven't managed to eliminate entirely yet to find out.

I had a bout of itchy skin when I was having too much wine and taking MTX with Mobic. Discovered that my AST and ALT live enzymes were elevated. The itching went away when I stopped to detox all the junk out of my system.

I get itchy oozing rashes in between my fingers when I eat foods I shouldn't. It looks like excema/dry skin but nothing I do makes it get better until I cut out those bad foods. For me it's nightshades that cause the rash but I also don't eat gluten or dairy.

I used to get itchy before a flare - the itch would be around the affected joint.

U right never thought about it I've had a flats up for 2 months now and my itching started back than exactly where I'm hurting. Hands sang feet inside my elbows behind my knees.

Yes but also check because I now know I have also fibromyalgia and it started with that. Most people with long term illness are very prone to it.
