You've never heard of Protestants? Some denominations like Lutheran and Anglican/Episcopalian are more tolerant of religious imagery, though these have retained more Catholic practices. Extreme iconoclasm came from Zwingli and Calvin and is seen in the reformed denominations.
Yes that's what we care about. Not the fact that we believe he came and lied about jesus, perverted morality and drug countless souls down with him in a cult.
And considering at least the first 37 chapters were at least dictated by mohammed he'd have to be a little self obsessed to not be on the backseat to soneone
Because jesus was the sinless one... But..... Muhammed gave god a new name claimed jesus was other than who he claimed to be..... And that's alright cause he legalized lying to the infidel!
This is the result when you people like to draw averything to imagine how God look like?? So many image base on races.. Do play play with god images, no respect
I don't understand it myself. People have made religious art since we first knew how. The first religious arts that I know of are the Venus of Willendorf figures, when people lived at a very subsistence level and understandably revered fertility. Different times and peoples and cultures have all seen divinity their own way ever since. I don't have to believe in all or even any of it to see that it has inspired the very best of the human potential for artistry.
Iconoclasm also has a long controversial history in Christianity, iconodules eventually prevailing in Eastern Orthodoxy. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byzantine_Iconoclasm
What I love most from Christianity is their effort to save local culture at least in my country. We also have a javanese Jesus and Mary portrayed Jesus and Mary like old Javanese king and queen. They also help to save our local langugae by translating Bible to our local language. That's nice effort.
It probably has something to do with this verse Exodus 20:4 KJV [4] Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
A lot of islam has restrictions against dance too. So few outlets for creativity is absolutely soul crushing. But if there is hope for islam, it will be through Sufiism.
This art is not usually Islamic.
Jesus is islam they think.
They do not think he was divine. They are equally opposed to all personified religious imagery, this is known as iconoclasm.
Mohammed is more divine than jesus?
Ha.. My god is bigger than yours.. Take that.
They are not divine in Islam.
They fear any depictions of people in religious settings for fear of idolatrous cults developing.
Plenty of iconoclastic Protestants feel the same way.
Never heard of them.

I say that in Joisey speak all the time Winkler lol. Like one of Fat Tonys goons
Protestants yes. İve heard.. Not one like u describe.
They will be only pissed about mohammed. They don't f*****g care about jesus

Jesus is literally mentioned more times in the Quran than Muhammad. Jesus also plays a key role in Islamic eschatology.
They better considering they got half of their book from ours.
And considering at least the first 37 chapters were at least dictated by mohammed he'd have to be a little self obsessed to not be on the backseat to soneone
Actually Jesus still carries out miracles in the Quran like turning a clay bird to a real dove.

Do u see god on the picture?
Hahaha! Go ahead. Say yes. Please.
I wish replies had a more forceful like option....
You didnt mention god but most of my Christian friend treat Jesus is god as a son of god ok to worship Jesus as our personal savier
Better than disrespecting him and saying his sacrifice was fake.

Yeah!!!
Religious art can still be aesthetic without depictions of people.
Absolutely! I have a thing for megaliths and gothic architecture. But the complete exclusion of human type form would have us missing out on a lot.

That's about carved idols. Because they had a problem with that. The Quran has its own stuff that makes them see it this way.
No art at all? No flowers?
