Best brand of essential oils??? Thanks!
You'll get a ton of different answers! I prefer doTERRA. If you would like to know what I love about doTERRA and try a sample, please PM me.
Is there anything specific I'm suppose to look for in them. Im done with air freshners in the home. Going to aromatherapy oil defuser. Are there any really bad brands or "fake" brands.
Yes!!!! Most unfortunately
Yes! You must research your supplier!!! I did 3 months research before I decided on YL.
I reseached a year before I went with Doterra.
I think both are great products! The proof is really in the oil and both companies believe in quality, I choose YL because of the huge amount of support I received, not sure if Doterra provides the same but they did sent me some samples to help make my decision, which was very cool. My network for YL is absolutely wonderful though;)
Yes dōTERRA has a huge network and great support system.
Totally a doTERRA fan! Not cheap, but grown indigenously, co-impact sourcing, rigorously tested by 3rd party world renowned EO chemist, awesome support system, and GREAT loyalty rewards that make them affordable.
Everyone is gonna tell you what they think is the best brand cause it's what they use or sell. It's really all a matter of opinions
The brand that I make money off of...
Young living in my book, there are a few reputable brands but I love YL oils!! I'd send you my link but looks like you have a few awesome reps ahead of me ready to help you;) I can definately say the YL is more than a product, it comes with a huge network of awesome supportive people ready to guide you and answer questions.... Buy a kit, become a member, one of the best decisions I've ever made!
young living because they own all their own farms and you can actually go there. ...
I seen in their catalog that it says they have Partner Farms, Co-op Farms and Qualified Vendors that they also get some of their oils from also...? I've always heard that they owned all their farms so I was surprised to see that. Maybe you can help clarify?
They own 8 farms and do co-op and partner with many others. The standards that they have for the other farms is still the same that they hold with their own. If an oil doesn't pass their testing they will not accept it. They would rather run the risk of being out of stock with their oils than giving less than par oils.
I don't like using young living or doterra because they charge way to much for the same oils you can get else where. They claim they are the only ones who own their own farm but it's not true. They also give horribly wrong advice and wrong oil usage. I myself like Edens garden and plant therapy.
DoTERRA does NOT own their own farms nor do they claim to do that. They source from indigenously grown crops while working with farmers who know those plants best. The sustainability and fair trade pratices were my reason for choosing dT.
DoTERRA and Young Living are the highest purest quality oils on the market. It's true they cost an arm a leg on your first born child. But you get what you pay for. I can't afford them either but you can bet if I could I would, because they are that much better quality than any of the competition.
I should of specified young living for that part.
When you compare wholesale pricing to other quality brands, dT isn't much more. I'm in non brand specific groups where costs per drop have been compared. DoTERRA is slightly more than Plant Therapy and you get points back on orders as well- plus shipping refunded. I don't know YL prices bc I don't use them.
Ps.. No oils are safe to ingest and that's one thing young living recommends doing.
Not true, but not going to argue the point. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
I second Loni Healy statement!
If you're going by ingredients and quality of the oils only doTERRA and Young Living would be my recommendation. Not everyone can afford them though sadly.
My favorite is DoTerra, by far. I don't sell them, but I have researched them. They are pure!
Neal's Yard Remedies!! They are a UK based company that offers essential oils among other body care products. Unlike a lot of other essential oil companies they do not recommend ingestion or topical application without the supervision of at the very least a certified aromatherapist. They are organic when they can be though they don't try and pretend when they aren't. They are about educating consumers and living a healthful lifestyle supported herbal remedies. Feel free to PM me with questions. I'm happy to ship samples! Good luck in your search. You won't regret making the switch to EO diffusing over air fresheners!
I've used several brands and for single oils, I prefer Mountain Rose, primarily because they are (mostly) organic, and have better pricing than the pyramid oil companies. I also use Young Living for most of the blends I don't make myself. Having experimented with MR, YL, and Doterra, I really haven't noticed a major difference between them.
Modere have some great essential oil blends '
Young living by far!
AnimalEO, safe for your pets too!
Wisdom of the Earth.
I suggest searching Blue Tansy Analysis on facebook. It will give you a look into multiple companies, and what to look for to find a great company!! Name brand is always fun, but there are great, pure companies out there that offer a lot of the same items, but better prices!!
Young Living. Because I get mine for FREE every month. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to buy any at all
Ok I'll bite. How do you get it for free?
In my opinion, nothing beats being able to go and visit the actual farms and distilleries. Young Living has that transparency. You know what you are getting. Wouldn't trust anything else for my family. Plus the support you get is amazing! Super happy with my decision.
I SECOND NEILS YARD!! They are certified through the soil association which is a third party entity that has been around since the 40's and promotes sustainable agricultural practices. They own almost all of the farms their plants are grown on so they have complete control over their products from the ground up. They either own all their farms or some ingredients are fair trade certified or wildcrafted. They don't outsource so they know exactly what goes in to every batch of products. It's really very impressive. They just recently received "champion status"by the Campaign for safe cosmetics too! So their stuff has no parabens, no phthalates, no silicones, acrylates, etc. Pretty awesome stuff!!
Great reviews, free shipping, good prices, heard from a few users who are very pleased.
I've been using a few cheaper brands and went to a DOterra class just to see... I could totally tell a difference in the peppermint I've been using and there's and lived their orange, mealalueka and tea tree.... My tee tree I've been using was thin, disappeared way fast n didn't seem to do much. I won't be buying the Now brand for sure or a few other cheap ones. I also was impressed how cheap a kit of the oils were and the wholesale price.
Probably the one you had been buying was diluted with ethanol. Teatree shouldn't evaporate that fast.
I prefer doterra
I prefer doterra. And I'm not making money off it
I use sparks naturals. More affordable.
I can only speak for DoTERRA. I love them!
The brend, NOW, it's cheep and good quality for external use
Natures gift is a wonderful, personable and trustworthy company ( check out there website so much great info) . And plant therapy! Young Living and Doterra are MLM company's - so beware.
Plant Therapy I'd direct to consumers, not MLM.
Just or doterra
People are posting a lot of low quality essential oils. Have you actually done your research on these oils? They're not even certified by anything. You do know that a lot of these natural essential oils are found to have synthetics like turpentine in them, right? You get what you pay for
There's no real regulatory system in the US, so "therapy grade" and any "certifications," beside organic, mean essentially nothing.
Truth is that there are MANY therapeutic grade standards. The problem is, which one do you trust? Its important for people to realize that all of these standards are INTERNAL standards developed by the company themselves and may or may not include quality control by a third party lab. Furthermore, if a third party lab is used, does this lab really know what they are doing? It’s also important to know what the company defines as being “therapeutic grade” does it simply mean that the oil is pure or does it mean something beyond purity and carry with it a quality standard as well? Let’s face it, an oil can be pure as the driven snow but still be low quality, I see this on a daily basis in the samples I analyze for my clients in order for them to make good buying decisions. Judgements about essential oil quality take more than just good chemists and good equipment, they require many years of experience in odor evaluation and knowing what specific minor components are desirable in an oil and not just focusing on the major components. So if you are among those in the denial crowd please rethink your position about TG. You may not like the promotion of TG but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. I think a better response instead of just saying “there’s no such thing” would be to say that “while many companies promote their own therapeutic grade standard, one should be aware that there is no independent body that certifies essential oils as therapeutic grade.” That is a fair statement that makes you look like a rational, logical and thoughtful human being instead of knee-jerk MLM hater. If you want a make a difference to people who are being fed a bunch a garbage by a narcissistic EO messiah then you must remain as objective, scientific and as non-emotional as possible. If you come off antagonistic it will be a barrier to productive dialog. I hope my friends in the traditional aromatherapy communities don’t take offense at this and look at it as just some friendly advice. I am not taking any sides here, the only side I am on is the side of truth.
-lol- Rachel! Sorry to be long-winded! Just was reading this article and I liked how Dr. Pappas clarified:)
Oh OK lol I was just kind of caught off guard with that! I agree with it though.
I have used them all, from Mountain Rose, NOW brand, plant Therapy, young living, DoTerra and many many more. I make an organic skin care line and use essential oils in all my products. I will never pay for YL or DoTerra ever again. You can get quality oils without paying ridiculous prices. The best peppermint oil ever even compared to yl & doTERRA is Essentially Kate from Amazon. I've been using that now for over a year. I will never use another brand of Peppermint oil. The term therapeutic grade is a patented term. When they say no one else can say it or claim it its true otherwise they get sued. And there is no regulatory standard for essential oils. There is no such thing as therapeutic grade in the essential oil world. I have researched oils and been using oils well over 5 yrs. Look up Robert Tisserand who is the guru in the essential oil world. He is a licensed aromatherapist and he's written several books on using essential oils safely and he always recommends to never ingest any essential oil unless you have talked to an aromatherapist or a holistic doctor first. Essential oils accumulate in the liver and when someone says no ones ever gotten sick blah blah blah over ingesting essential oils, it will eventually break down your liver. So do your research and go with a company your comfortable with.
I also just want to say that I see a lot of MLM sellers that give out a lot of misinformation especially when it comes to essential oils and children. I don't know if they're being taught that by other representatives or if it's their own opinion, especially when it comes to putting peppermint on babies and children under 2. Diluted or not children under 6 should not be anywhere near peppermint oil. So before you listen to what anybody has to say make sure that you're researching especially when it comes to children. There are some good post you can screenshot and save on what is safe and not safe to use on your babies. Research why you should never give a child peppermint oil even diluted on their feet.
It is like the best brand of shampoo or coffee... Opinions & experiences vary. I like doterra, but many are good
Very true there is a lot of misinformation when it comes to EO's. There are many oils that are NOT safe for children!
Can of worms... Opened....
