I boil 8 cloves of garlic and chilli powder and add a teaspoon of dish soap to spray in case of bugs
Dawn is petroleum based
Which means...? It keeps bugs off? Or don't use it because it's harmful?
well they dont have a list of ingredients on the bottle so thats warning sign # 1. I have been looking for an article that I saved about a specific ingredient in there as well. I swear P&G is suppressing the info. I keep wanting to say Diatyl.. But I think thats the 'popcorn lung' thing.. Whatever it was.. İt was enough to make me never want to use it again.
The information is out there I just cant seem to find it again.
John Vargas the popcorn lung is from smoking ecigs.
Charles Sandoval yes thats the popcorn reference. İts a similar word... Tho
Would that work to kill mites and the eggs or maybe just a deterrent
Because if its mites we are referring to. İf it doesnt kill them and their eggs then what is the point.
Prevention avoid them and you wont get them. Once you have them garlic and chili powder wont save you. İ have had them its a nightmare
They cover the eggs in a webbing. You can kill the mites but the eggs keep hatching. Or you can get predaror mites.
My point is i think pre spraying just in case is pointless. Just get a jewellers loupe, i use 30× from growshop. 20buks.look underside of leaf if you dont see them then dont worry bout it
Integrated pest management is never pointless.
It wont prevent mites and it wont kill mites but maybe there is some benefit for the other insects. İam sure couldnt hurt.
I only spray if there is problem but iam rookie
Integrated pest management is as much about prevention as it is about control.
Sounds great. But if you dealing with the borg your method is pointless. But might have effect on all the other fun critters you may come across.
Thats wonderful. Cept i grow my own. İ have over a pound to smoke. But if i run out before my next batch is done in 3 weeks i will order some
I live in canada do you ship north of border
Dawn is awesome.
So is sunlight but when fighting borg the fkkrs are allmost indestructible.by the time you done you got lotsa chemicals and lotsa dead bugs. Prevention is the answer before the fact.
Dawn wont kill the eggs ditamaceaus earth mite work regardless its a battle you dont want to fight. Odds are you will lose.
Lady bugs are what I use
Dr. Bonner soap
Liquid sevin will take care of them.
Jesus do you also use avid and eagle 20
How about some imidicloprid?
sunlight dish washer does the job work with its better
when you use neem oil as a pesticide you add a dash of dishwasher soap to disperse the oil (oil/water) but I have never heard about just using the soap
Worked everytime for me.
never use this in a grow, its deadly poison if you smoke it.
A bit of dis, a bit of soap, a bit of alcohol mixed in water.
Gone!!
There are plenty of DIY sprays for pest control. Most are useless or almost so. Putting a drop of dish soap in any solution will break the surface tension of the water and allow it to be absorbed more easily, by plant or bug. An agricultural wetting agent is a better choice as it has no cleaning agents, only surfactant ( bubbles). Soap alone is going to kill nothing just make it clean. Don't coat your plants in crap trying to kill bugs, research what kind of bugs you have, then find a specific remedy. What kills one bug could love potion 99 for another. Sticky traps and bug identification groups are your friends.
It kills wasp
Use insecticidal soap. Dish soap has degreasers that aren't good for oil base trichomes.
Anything short of a hydrogen bomb won't stop spider mites!!!! Just sayin'.
Wipe out stopped spidermites after 1 application and killed the eggs too.
Smite from supreme growers does
Thank you. I've tried everything. I'm an organic grower. Not familiar with either product, but I will definitely check them both out. Thanks for the tips. Much appreciated.
Eddie Rivers here is the brochure for Wipeout. It’s used on fruits and veggies and leaves no trace of residue after 14 days. Good luck!!
Thank you dan. I'm on it. New to this group but already getting some great feedback. The web site said it is even available at Wal Mart. I only have that problem in the summer. The little troublemakers really liked my Chemdawg last summer.
I use a few drops of dawn in just about everything I spray on
Neams oil and dish soap, water. The soap makes the neam oil stick you the inscects, suffacate mites. Spray your plants to they drip.
roy, how much neem oil/ soap/ water?
I have the good stuff it's from Bonide a Neem and pyrethrin concentrate I use like a teaspoon with a spraybottle full of filtered water I let it sit on the plants for like 15 minutes then rinse thoroughly
I paid like $14 for the 8 fl. Oz bottle that will make like a hundred spray bottles full so it's cheap
Use neem oil, dish soap and a prayer fam!
brian you don't spray your buds with any moisture. Will cause mold.
dawn mixed 50/50 with water will knock a wasp down better than raid they take like 3 steps and are dead
Use it as a surfactant aka spreader/sticker.
It kills off mites and there eggs as well as deters new ones from climbing your plant also helps to deter black/white flies
A lot of organic pesticides are soap, plain and simple. The soap suffocates the bugs rather than poisoning them. Mold and mildew can be treated with a weak solution of biodegradable laundry detergent.
Dish washing liquid added to your nutrients will help the plant absorb them better. DO NOT use anti-bacterial though.
yes and it works u need 2.5 oz to 1 gal of water
The good old Dawn natural, the one with the duck. It is safe for your plant
outdoors, way to go!
