My son loves to be outdoors so I would love to find something natural for poison ivy so that he can enjoy camping and hunting.

Teach him what it looks like and try to avoid. Otherwise washing immediately and using apple cidar vinegar on the areas that may have came in contact with it.

An older lady at our church told us about a home remedy years ago. Wet strong deodorant soap and rub it on the rash. Let it dry on skin. It works.

Well, it is an oil, so wash with soap, but it has a biological component so hydrogen peroxide afterward kills it.

yes. What makes you break out is an oil. That is why it can spread. Dawn dish washing liquid and scrubbing it off with a wash cloth gets rid of it better than anything !

rmember it is not the dish soap alone though but you must scrub it off with the cloth for it to work correctly

Here's a trick... Wet Jewelweed soap and form a lather on the infected area's and leave it on.. When I did this, in the bathroom, my partner thought I was rehearsing a scene from that film.. The relief is audible.
